'I'm sorry, Granger'

She shed countless tears. He was a powerful wizard, and definitely an excellent Legilimens. Before eating her alive, he could invade her mind and uncover all the Order's secrets. She would die the most horrible death and she would bring the whole Order down.

If her calculations were correct, the full moon would be tonight. She forced herself to calm and steady her breathing. Resigned to her fate, Hermione spent the following few  hours trying to build more walls around her mind to protect the Order. She knew it was useless but did it anyway. Hermione found it strange that he hadn't tried to use Legilimency on her yet.

She was pushing the most precious information to the furthest place she could reach within her mind when she heard a pained voice. She looked up and saw that Malfoy stood hunched and was gripping the rails so hard that his knuckles turned white. He was transforming. She began hyperventilating again. Hermione forced herself to calm. You're going to die anyway, make it worth it. Trying to ignore his growls and grunts, she occluded some more.

The noise stopped. She looked up and saw him, fully transformed. He hadn't noticed her yet. He was long and large, and had magnificent silver fur. He wasn't ugly like most werewolves she had seen, there was even something beautiful about his werewolf form. Yet it was definitely fearsome. His pupils were large and black. She held her breath and waited for the end. Her end.

He looked around the cell, all the while growling and making guttural sounds. When he finally noticed her, his black pupils returned to their original grey, and he stopped all the noises. It was only for a moment,  then the grey became black. She braced herself. He pounced on her.

She tried to push him away but he was too strong and she was malnourished. He tried to bite anywhere he could reach with his enormous fangs and successfully took out a large chunk from her right arm. She screamed in agony and his pupils returned grey, but only momentarily. He resumed the attack.

Her mind told her to let go. She was never going to make it out alive anyway and her death would protect the Order. But it was hard to suppress her survival instincts. Eventually, she managed to do so and stopped fighting him. Apparently, the surrender caught him off guard. His pupils changed color again. But this time they remained grey. He looked at her injured arm and the blood covering her, and his eyes widened. He left her and went as far from her as the cell would allow.

Hermione slipped into the darkness.
