Hero Academy

Chapter 7

          I spent half an hour by my parent's side then i left the my former house, my eyes were zoned out and filled with hatred and rage, the only thing i could think about at the moment was revenge. I went to the center of mantis to rest but i saw Justin there... He was sitting but he looked like he wasn't conscious.

         I sat down beside him and examined his body then i realized hatred had consumed him, thunder clouds started forming... I tapped him on the shoulder and said "Don't worry, together we will get through this... Together we will find the bastard who murdered our parents, I promise." He looked at me smiling and said "Asher you really are strong... Things like this can bring even the most powerful to their knees" I gave him a feint smile in return and said "Just try to get some rest..." after the statement i turned away from Justin and lie on the bare concrete floor. Then I cried myself to sleep.

                                                      LATER AROUND NIGHT TIME

          I slowly opened my eyes then stood up and scanned the faces around me, all of my friends were here and their faces were so glum. The only person un-affected was Diana... She wasn't from Mantis, so she just tried to lighten the mood by saying "You guys should cheer up... Don't waste your emotions on the past, just focus on the future" the others didn't really care but in time they acknowledged her words. That just infuriated me more so i spoke up out of anger " What the hell are you saying! Our future was meant to be a happily ever after life with our parents but it was ruined and you just want us to ignore the fact that we  found our parents dead? How could we forget their faces..." My speech was cut short, i heard footsteps.

         I looked at Justin and it seemed he heard them too, he soon alerted the others and we stood on-guard the footsteps drew closer and closer until i was able to identify two people... They looked 18 and Above they eventually stopped when they were really close and said " stay at ease, we mean no harm... We were sent her to recruit you, we are aware you have supernatural abilities..." Justin cut in " Oh really? how did you know we had abilities then?" Drake pulled out a device from his pocket and we could see six red targets and two blue ones. What do the colors mean? Drake distorted my thinking when he spoke up "This device tracks super-humans... The colors tell if the person can control his ability or not"

          He paused for a second then continued "Super-humans who can't control their abilities are dangerous... So we came here to get you... Our objective is to recruit you to a school. How would you like to join the hero academy?" Justin replied "what's the purpose of this so called Hero academy?" Drake chuckled then said "Tell them jack" the other person spoke "The hero academy is a school located in a small society, The academy trains super-humans on how to efficiently control and use their quirks, do you need a further explanation?" They all nodded in consent to joining the hero academy but i looked at them all in disgust and said " Do you really want to go back to being slaves? The hell is wrong with you guys?"

          Jack replied " I assure you, you'll have your freedom" I replied in growing anger "Bullshit!!!" I couldn't take it anymore so i turned around and started walking away but Diana grabbed my arm tightly.  I looked back at her with a cold glare and she released me instantly, I continued walking till i reached the top of the hill i slid down on to get to Mantis, I sat down then proceeded to lye down after. I placed my hands behind my head and began to think... Whoever murdered my parents must possess admirable strength to be able to wipe out and entire city, he/she killed everyone including the soldiers. Could he have supernatural abilities like me? Can I keep my promise or was my promise just an empty one...

          Questions like that kept popping into my head and bothering me but the one that bothered me the most was "can i actually keep my promise to my parents?" I couldn't even use my quirk. I stood up immediately and said  in my head " No... I won't give up i will fulfill my promise... That murderer will pay for this."  But how could i achieve it? Only one solution appeared in my head, even though i was against it, it was my only hope... I will do it... For my parents... My only option was...    JOINING THE HERO ACADEMY
