I'll always love you (re-continued)

After making it across the bridge the small group began to continue their journey to a more secluded area that would be a good spot for a picnic. The rest of the walk there was silent the only noises were the ones from when the birds chirped and when the wind would blow, well besides a few moments of laughter and talking, Nao was taking a few pictures every now and then when he found something he wanted to capture in the moment.

"Look I think that I found a good area!" Akira looked back at the group that was walking towards him. "I'll find a nice area." He added after a few minutes.

Suki walked up to where her brother was and started to set up the navy blue and red plaid blanket that was big enough for all six of them to sit comfortably on. She reached for the backpack and put it somewhat in the middle.

Soon the rest of the group showed up, once everybody was comfortable they began to eat and talk while playing a few rounds of Uno that Aki brought.

Nao sat down his small deck of cards face down. "I give up." He sighed heavily and slapped his cheeks with his hands before nodding to himself, he didn't slap himself hard but red hand prints still managed to appear on his face. "Now I can play! And I won't lose this time."

Akira chuckled and smiled. "As if, I'll win this round and any other round we decide to play." He said confidently while he shuffled the cards.

Yuika looked at Nao's eyes, she hadn't had a chance to see them that clearly because in school he always had his bangs covering them which made it hard to see, and earlier she was too distracted to look at them. "Your eyes, they're so pretty!"

Nao looked at her. "Thank you, your eyes are also pretty." He said as he picked up the stack of seven cards, he looked at them and smiled, he thought that he had decent cards.

Naruto looked down at his watch that read 2:45 pm. "It's 2:45 pm right now, what time do you think we should head back?" He asked as he looked over at Neji with questioning eyes.

"We should head back around 4:50, that way it gives us more time to explore. But we could start heading back to the car at 4:30." He answered as he glanced up at the sky.

Naruto rechecked his watch and nodded. "Okay, sounds like a plan." He stood up, dusting himself off before cracking his neck. "If you guys are done eating we can go hiking further up."

Akira clapped his hands together and nodded. "Yeah! Let's do that. Are you guys finished?" He asked referring to them eating, he started to put away the things that weren't being used. He hadn't realized how much he enjoyed hiking even though it made his legs feel heavy, he also had a sudden burst of inspiration on what he should make.

Naruto glanced over at Neji for what seemed like to be the 90th time, he tried to ignore the question that seemed to appear in his mind. "Hey- um... you don't need to answer but..." He began to nervously play with his hands. "How is your family treating you? I mean you don't have to reply! I'm just wondering that's all."

Neji's eyes slightly widened, he never talked about his childhood and if he was being honest he thought that the blonde, blue-eyed male forgot about it. "We aren't close, and I rarely talk to them. The only exception is Hina." Naruto was the only one he had opened up to about how he grew up,

"How is she doing?" He asked curiously, he hadn't been keeping up with any of his friends for one of two reasons, the first was because he was too preoccupied with raising 3 children and the second reason was because he was too nervous to contact them after he basically just ghosted them all.

"She's doing good, Sakura and Hinata got married 5 years ago. They seem happy with each other." He was envious of his cousin, she seemed to be happy, and even though he felt happy, or at least satisfied with his life, he knew that things could be better.

"That's nice." Naruto replied with a small smile as a distant look took over his eyes. He wanted to ask so many questions but he didn't want to come off as being annoying.

"They have a son who is around the age of 9 and a daughter who is about 4." That was all Neji was going to say about Hinata and her family, the rest was up to his cousin. He knew that she probably wouldn't care if he continued but he wanted to leave that choice up to her.

Naruto nodded as he listened. "I bet that they're a lovely family." He whispered, he wasn't sure if Neji heard him or not but Naruto smiled either way.

Naruto stretched his arms and yawned. "What would you three like to eat? I recommend something small but I'll make you guys almost anything as long as it's no longer than an hour to make."

Akira looked at the skirt he started a few days ago, now it was completed and ready to be worn. "Could you make pancakes?" He asked as he folded the skirt then handed it over to his sister.

"Oh! Pancakes sound good!" Nao said agreeingly as he looked at the pictures he took.

"No complaints here!" Suki took the folded skirt from her brother and smile at him. "Thank you! It looks so pretty." She couldn't wait until she showed it off.

"Pancakes it is." Naruto said with a sigh as he grabbed the ingredients for the pancakes, he grabbed a bowl and rinsed it out before starting to put the ingredients into the bowl.
