Jack's P.O.V.
It's been a year and a couple months since I graduated from high school. I spent a year at community college to get my GPA up and I got accepted as a transfer to UCLA. I was hyped to be starting my sophomore year of college. I finally felt like I have my life on track and finally under control. I was even more hyped to be rushing for Sigma Chi. Usually fraternities only let you rush when you're a freshman but since I'm a transfer and my dad is an alumni they made an acceptance. I'm not going to lie I was nervous. I was nervous about possibly seeing Rosie on campus. I know it's a big college but what are the chances of us not crossing paths? I haven't talked to her since graduation day. When she said goodbye she really meant it. She didn't post very much on socials or she had me post blocked. She also didn't hang out with our friends back home when she was on breaks or at least not when I was around. Mia refused to open her mouth about her when I asked how she was doing.
I was moved on from Rosie but apart of me still loved her. I was curious if she was moved on and especially curious if a part of her still loved me.
I wouldn't blame her if she still hated me but I don't think I could live the rest of my life knowing she hadn't moved on but silence is all I ever got from everybody.
I walked up the stairs to the large fraternity house on this fine Friday night. My first week of classes breezed by the party I was walking into was going to be a great release of my stress of transferring.
"Gilinsky! Great to see you! Let me show you around the house!" Andrew the Vice President of the frat said patting my back. "But first lets get you a drink." He handed me a beer from the keg and slowly but surely started to show me around.
After the tour we sat talking and few other guys joined in. We joked around and the atmosphere around us was amazing. The stress of transferring lifted away as I realized I belonged here.
"Rose! Rose! Rose! Rose!" I heard people in the next room chanting and we followed the noise.
I spotted a girls legs being lifted into the air by two frat guys as she did a keg stand. People were shouting her name while others were counting. She finally decided she had enough as someone shouted she hit a new record and they set her down. My stomach dropped as her soft face came into view it was the girl that a part of me still loved but something was different about her.
"That girls name is Rose?" I asked Andrew.
"Yeah! She likes one of the brothers here but don't bother! She doesn't let anybody tap that around here! I'm starting to wonder if she's still a virgin." He laughed and I tried to laugh along. "She does flirt with our prez a lot though so maybe he'll be the one." He laughs and I feel a bit of jealousy wave over me.
I tried my hardest to keep my attention on the conversation in front of me but my eyes wondered to wherever Rosie or Rose was. I curious as to why she's going by Rose now. My stomach started to cuddle as I noticed her getting drunker and drunker. The guys were all over her here and I didn't want anything to happen to her. I tried to keep my distance as long as I could mostly because I didn't know how she was going to react to seeing me. I grabbed her my her arm she stumbled and almost tripped.
"Thank you." She laughed and looked up at me.
"Jack?" She questioned
"Yeah." I said rubbing the back of my neck
"Wow how are you?" She said hugging me and giggling.
"I'm fine. Are you okay?" I asked her waiting for her anger to unleash on me.
"She had one to many.." she giggled and almost tripped again. "I should probably get back to my dorm room before anybody gets me to take more shots." She giggles again.
"Maybe I should walk you to your dorm. Make sure you get there okay." She nodded and pulled me out the door.
"This walks seems like forever tonight. My feet hurt." She whines with a giggle.
"Do you want me to carry you?" I asked and she agrees and jumps on to my back.
I feel Rosie rest her head on my shoulder as we continue your walk. For a second I could have swore she was smelling me. I couldn't believe she didn't slap me when I talked to her. I had hope in the pit of my stomach that she wouldn't change her mind about me tomorrow when she isn't drinking.
"That's my building!" She pointed.
I walked her up the stairs as she fumbled to get her keys out.
"Well I guess I'll see you around." I say as we reach her door.
Rosie didn't respond verbally she just tugged my arm and pulled me into her spacious dorm room. It looked like she had a single and I was quite surprised at how big it was.
"Stay the night with me?" She asked giving me puppy dog eyes.
I sat and debated because as much I wanted to I wasn't sure if it was a good idea.
"I'm not taking no for an answer." As she walked to her closet and peeled her clothes her body as I tried not to stare.
I let my hopefulness get the best of me and stripped down to my boxers and climbed in bed with Rosie.
She laid her head on my chest and it felt exactly how it used to. I missed this. I missed her. Who was I kidding a part of didn't love her all of me did. I just want to know if she feels the same way.
