Chapter 9

At the publisher's

"Hey,Smart."I said,waving the
publisher,a short man in his 30s.

"Hey,Nina."he put down his glasses and looked at me. "You can sit."

"Oh,thank you." I said,as I pulled the chair backwards and sat down on the sit.

He looked up at me.

"so,what work did you bring today?"he asked,as he stretched his hands to receive the book.

"Oh,It's nothing much."I scoffed,"It's just a short novel.Here is the manuscript."

He glared at me with a you are not serious look and collected the manuscript. He began to touch his tongue as he flipped through the pages of the book.

"It's nice,I like it.It will definitely make great sales."he encouraged.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah,it's short but it is actually really too good for a short novel."he commented.

"Really?" I asked. "I actually thought it was even too long for a short novel."

"No,no,no,no."he responded."It's actually okay the way it is."

"My editors and crew will all work it out and make it better."

"Okay,I will trust you. I should be going now." I informed him.

"Yeah,sure."

"Bye,Mr Smart."

"Bye,be safe."

I smiled as I walked out of the office and set out to head straight home.

I called in a cab and decided to stop by at the market since I needed to get something for the weekend.

"You can drop me here."I informed the cab driver as we reached the side of the road.

"Okay." he said.

"Here's your pay." I said,as I gave him the money.

"Thank you." He responded as he put the money into his pocket.

I smiled while he drove away.

I walked into the market and looked around with various shops behind me.

"Where do I go now?" I wondered,

"You can get whatever you want here." A woman called out to me.

"Oh,really?" I asked,as I turned over to look at the woman beside me.

She was smiling so cheerfully so I imagined that she would probably have a good character and walked over to her shop.

"Good evening." I greeted her and waited for her response.
