Sara's POV:
I stare at myself in the mirror once again, feeling unsure of what had just happened in the past hour.
"Are you sure, Lenna?" I ask my best friend. She applies another layer of a popping red lip gloss to her already glossy lips and nods her head at me, confidence radiating off of her.
"Definitely." Lenna walks over to me and looks us over in the mirror. "We look good!"
I just shrug and turn around. Lenna had swapped my baggy graphic tees for a body-fitting off-the shoulder top. It was a sky blue and had little pink hearts all over it. I was also wearing a plain black pleated skirt that went down to my mig-thighs instead of my knees. Instead of my usual comfortable boots, I was now sporting heeled combat boots. Lennea had perfectly done my makeup. I had a little pink glitter on the inner corners of my eyes, a little blush, and some bubblegum pink lip gloss.
"We're going to become the most popular girls in the school, Sara," Lenna chides, brushing some of her perfectly curled locks behind her ears.
"Just because two boys asked us to a dance?" I scoff.
Lenna straightened her baby blue plaid skirt and pulled at her black crop top.
"Because the most popular and hottest bachelors in school asked us to a dance," Lenna corrects me, giggling slightly.
I sit on the edge of my bed and pout. "The worst part is, I like this new look."
Lenna beams at me. "I knew you would!" She bounces up and down on her heels excitedly.
I sigh. "Is this going to be your attitude all day long?" I groan at the possibilities.
"You bloody bet." She grins.

I huff, exasperated and annoyed with the constant clicking of my boots.
Urghhh! My boots don't do this! I snort silently, cursing Lenna for forcing me to wear these...these...these? THESE WHATEVERS!
Lenna, noticing my discomfort, just laughs at me and pulls open the doors to the grande school. "I know, girl, I know," She chides softly, making sure nobody heard.
Instantly, I hate my new popularity.
It was quite obvious that everybody, and I mean everybody had heard about what happened just mere hours ago.
Even though people kept doing what they were doing before, their air of indifference was easy to see through. They had their eyes on us, and I knew it.
I felt myself freezing up almost instantly as all eight hundred eyes are on us, even if it was indirect.
"Keep going!" Lenna whispers, not moving a muscle on her face. She kept her fake smile plastered on there, hiding whatever emotion she truly felt deep down.
"I'm trying!" I hiss back, my leg twitching.
My eyes catch those of another, Luka. He waves me over and this time, people's eyes really do follow me as I 'confidently strut' over to where he and Brandon stand.
Luka quickly gives the cafeteria a once over before leaning down to whisper in my ear.
"You look...lovely," He compliments me. His voice is low and husky, and it sends shivers down my spine. I feel my heart skip a beat as a slight blush arises to my cheeks.
"Thanks!" I squeak, suddenly finding great interest in the way the black leather of my boot wrapped perfectly around my tanned foot, which was concealed by the masterfully crafted shoe.
"Looks like we've already got two lovebirds, huh? It's only been a day!" A cool and evil voice sneers.
Oh please no!
My head snaps up and I am met with the most horrible yet somehow amazing sight known to man or at least to this school.
Jackson Ace stands leather, clad in all black and leather.
Jackson Ace was the school's second hottest bachelor, the complete and utter (some say 'hot') bad boy. His father was also insanely rich so he was (naturally) high up on the social ladder, even without his bachelor status. (Though maybe his bachelor status was because of his father...?)
His hair was pitch black and windswept, adding to his whole 'aesthetic'. His lips were pink and plump and they had girls drooling. He had high, sculpted cheekbones and a jawline that could cut you. He was the type of person to leave you bleeding, but you would still come back for more.
I feel my knees weaken a little, and if it were not for Luka wrapping a steady arm around my waist, I might have fallen under his intense gaze (though it was mostly because of these stupid boots!).
Even I have to admit, the whole 'good girl and bad boy' trope always had me feeling like this, and even I fangirled over him with Lenna a bit! (It was once, okay? I swear!)
"Jackson," Luka greets snidely. I can feel his muscles tense around me, but I begin to wonder why his arms were around me in the first place.
Hmmmm, it's literally just because Jackson is here, right? Oh, why do I care!
"Got yourself a girlfriend, eh?" Jackson asks,, casually leaning against the wall and crossing his arms. The leather of his jacket crinkles where his elbows are bent.
"Just a date to the dance, though that's something I can't say for you, Jackson," Luka sneers.
Onlookers silently pull out their phones to either film or text their friends was what going on.
"Stop it!" I hiss for the umpteenth time that day. I nudge Luka and Lenna on their sides"Just drop it!"
Jackson snickers at me. "Scared, eh?"
"Oh shut it!" Lenna snaps, defensively standing in front of me. I huff, becoming a bit annoyed with the situation.
"Ayyye, feisty!" One of Jackson's friends, Cameron wolf whistles.
"Back off, Cameron!" Brandon growls, moving to stand in front of Lenna who was standing in front of Luka who was standing in front of me.
"Seriously guys," I huff. "No need to form a wall!" I shove Luka and Lenna out of my way so I can see what was going on instead of three people's backs.
"Careful there, hottie," Cameron coles, reaching out a hand. I flinch and accidentally barrel into Luka as I avoid him.
"An attitude like that just may land you in places you don't want to be." Jackson warns, ominously.
Cameron and Jackson walk away. Luka, Brandon and Lenna noticeably relax and they begin to talk to each other once more, calmly. Onlookers stop onlooking, but Jackson's words echo in my ears.
Places I don't want to be? What does that mean?
A/N: Yes, yes that is his last name. (Check out my other book to understand what I mean!)
Will Jake get between Luka and Sara?
What does Jake mean by 'places you don't want to be'?
