"Hey watch my party trick" jj said patting me on the shoulder
"It's not gonna work JJ" Kie said while taking off her sunglasses
"You've tried this like 6000 times already" Pope said while speeding up the boat
All of the sudden, the boat came to a sudden stop and everyone jerked forward, and jj flew into the water
"Is everyone okay?" John B said looking around
"Yeah I'm fine" I said looking over the boat
"You okay, jj?" I said looking at the boy laying in the water
"I think my heels just touched the back of my head" he said, groaning
I was about to give him my hand when I heard Pope freaking out
"Guys!! There- there's a boat down there"
"what? There's not way that there's a- A BOAT? Guys he's not lying" Kie said while leaning over the side of the boat
Everyone jumped in so I took that as my que to remove my shirt, which had a swimsuit under it
When I was about to jump in, I noticed that JJ was still afloat the water, staring at me
"What, jj?" I said while smirking at the boy
"Oh nothing- I just, I wanted to make sure you put the boat in park" he said
a wave of sadness came over me, I kinda hoped that he was waiting for me or staring or something.
But who am I kidding? This is only like the 4th day I've been in the outer banks!
I just met him that long ago too, he couldn't possibly like me already
We all bobbed our heads out of the water
"Did you see that?"
"Grady White!"
"Wow"
"Anyone find anything"
A series of comments rushed over the group of friends
On the way back we discussed what we could do with this information
"We should turn it in, maybe get a finders fee" I said with a shrug
"I like the way you think, girly" kie said coming to sit next to me
Turns out the station was too busy to even acknowledge us, so we decided to go explore for ourselves
On the way to the figure eight hotel kie sat next to me in the back, away from everyone else for some "much needed girl talk" in her words
"Sooo" she started with a smirk
"Soo?" I said questioningly
"Oh don't give me that look! I wanna know what's going on with you and jj!!" She said getting even more excited
"What? Why would you think there was something going on between us?" I said trying to avoid the question slightly
"Oh please, don't act like I don't see your little glances and also that whole "surfing lesson" ordeal" she said with a proud, knowing smirk
"Don't even try to deny it, you like him!" She said, whispering the last part
"Okay maybe a little bit?! I don't know kie!!" I said quietly
"Eeeee!! I knew ittt!!" She said practically screaming
"Shhhh!!" I tried to shush her, while shoving her slightly
All heads turned to us
Me and kie just started laughing
"Are y'all done with your lil girl talk" jj said while coming to sit next to me, setting his hand dangerously close to my thigh
"Yes, jj. We're done now" I said with a slight chuckle while giving kie a look
"Good, cause were here." John B said while tying the boat to a dock.
JJ hopped out and turned to say something to John B, but he seemed to be occupied.
"Be careful. I mean it." Kie said while looking at John B intensely.
Me, jj, and pope all have each other a look before shrugging our shoulders
"Who's gonna keep these two in check?" Pop said while looking between me and kie
"I think Mattie should, they will probably listen better to her" kie said while sitting back down in the boat. 
"Alright, no promises though" i said while climbing out of the boat
