Talia's POV
Of all the things wrong in my life at the moment, the two words I have never thought I would hear came out of Seth's mouth. It had started off a sort of okay morning. I was still in the hospital and after my first MRI and they wanted to go ahead and do a second one to see if I would need surergy for the swelling to go down.
I had been feeling queasy but then my mother had come in and she looked so much better and she had hugged me and kissed my cheek and that was just the thing I had needed because I felt a thousand times better.
And then stupid Seth came in around noon asking me where his sister was, and of course I was a little angry because she hasn't been to see me and she wasn't picking up her phone at all, but I stayed cordial and told him I didn't know where she was.
And then the two most hated words in the world fell from his lips and I wanted to catch them and shove them right back in there.
"Taylor's missing," he muttered as he stared at me with worry and anxiety in his eyes. He looked around the room, at my teddy bear and the half eaten food on the cart in front of me and the muted television.
It was like he was waiting for Taylor to pop up and say 'here I am!' But she wasn't here and it wouldn't happen. "Seth, what do you mean missing?" He sighed, ran his hands down his face and plopped down into the chair beside the bed, staring at the floor.
"My moms a total bitch and she and Taylor fought and my mom said some stuff she really shouldn't have and Taylor ran off and my mom didn't tell me until this morning."
I looked at him shortly before sighing. "Um...okay...so why does that concern me?" I asked him. He glared up at me. "You've been seeing my sister, Talia. I'm not an idiot, I know you two are together. You care and it concerns you."
I looked down at my hands and muttered to myself before looking back up at him. "She's not answering her phone. In fact, it's off. I've been calling her nonstop and...I've been really worried."
"She didn't say anything to you?" I shook my head. "She dropped me off here yesterday and I've been here since."
"Yeah, why are you here?" He asked with a confused look plastered on his face. "I had a seizure, not that it's any of your business." He frowned deeper. "A seizure?"
"Well, it was a miniature seizure. From swelling in my brain."
"Sounds serious. Can you die from that?" He was so blunt. I looked at him and he had a frown on his lips, so I decided to humor him. "Boy, don't you sound eager." He shook his head. "No, I'm serious...can you?" I shrugged. "I don't know. I guess you can, I mean, that's why they're keeping me here."
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. It didn't even ring. It was Taylor. "Maybe you can track her." He looked at me like I was stupid. "Her phones off." I rolled my eyes.
"She's gone and she needs to buy food and stuff, right? She's always using that stupid black credit card for everything." He chuckles. "She only does it because she think it'll actually make a dent in our mother bank account."
"Hmm. Does it?" I mused. He shook his head, his blond hair flopping back and forth atop his head. "Never does." He really had been worried. He hasn't styled his hair and he wore sweat pants. He loved his sister, he really, really did.
And that got him some points. He earned himself some points for loving her. It wasn't hard to do but considering who we're talking about here, I'd have to say I'm shocked. And happy. Both shocked and happy that Taylor had such a good brother in the midst of all of this crazy.
