The next day seemed perfect for Peter. After working all night on upgrading his suit and Karen, he felt closer to finding his mom.

Of course, Aunt May was great and all but they both knew how hard Peter worked to search for his mother. If Peter could, he'd give the world to May. The first few nights he stayed at their humble home he had nightmares of that place.

You know the usual. Dead bloody bodies reaching for help and drowning in limbs and blood. That girl. The usual.

It wasn't until Peter was around eleven did he tell the truth of what the nightmares related to. And when they found out they didn't freak out knowing they had a trained spy child, instead they aimed to help him have a true childhood. They understood that Peter missed his mom.

May thought that Peter spent his late night adventures looking for clues when in reality he was off being Spider-Man. Of course, she still expected him in bed by eleven but it works out when you're good at sneaking in and out.

He smiled widely and headed inside the school. On his wrist was the small, old smart watch which connected to Karen.

"Hey guys! How's it going?" He asked, smiling at his friends who were hanging around his locker.

"Pretty good. I got this new Lego Death star set we can work on next Friday."

"Sounds fun!" Peter glanced at MJ and squinted his eyes at her. "Speaking of Friday..."

"What you looking at me for?"

"You and Ned set us up didn't you?" Harley's eyes widened and glanced at the other two.

"What?! No, of course not! You see we were just busy with family stuff which honestly was pretty boring but the food was good. As for MJ, I'm sure she was working very hard on her homework which is why we couldn't hang out. But I mean, we would've, we just couldn't."

Peter raised a brow at their rambling friend. "Uh huh. Sure whatever you say."

The bell rang and they went to their separate classes with MJ silently freaking out, Ned outwardly freaking out, Harley blushing, and Peter smirking.

Today was going to be a good day.

"Exciting news everyone!" Mr. Harrington announced, wearing a large smile on his face. "We're going on a field trip!"

The room grew silent from everyone's attention being gained. Peter kept fiddling on his project, aka his spider webbing, and glanced questioningly at Harley and Ned.

"We have been offered a wonderful opportunity to visit Stark Industries!"

The room bursted with excited chatter from the announcement. Peter hid his project and looked over to see Harley choking on his saliva.

"Dude you okay?" Ned asked, patting his back. He looked at Peter. "Must be really excited."

Doesn't seem excited. More like worried... But why?

Harley held up his hand, signalling he was alright. Ned stopped patting him and by now Harley had calmed down.

"Even more exciting news! We'll be staying there for the weekend!"

And that's when Harley broke. He slammed his head on the desk and groaned. Nobody took notice and were bursting with excitement about the field trip.

Peter raised a brow at the suffering Harley. Ned started fan boying about possibly running into Tony Stark or some other Avenger.

At the end of class, Mr. Harrington stood at the door and handed everyone a permission slip. Harley glumly took one and sighed.
