Overwhelmed.

The single word describing Peter as he leapt and soared through the city.

Why? Because- because this whole field trip just took a whole new turn!

Peter took deep breaths as he swung around the city. He looked behind him, paranoid about being followed.

Thank goodness I wore my suit under my civilian clothes.

He stopped swinging and landed on a random building, thousands of thoughts running around his mind.

Mainly about him, possibly, being related to the Black Widow. Or- or maybe he's freaking out about Harley knowing the Avengers. Or... or-

How Natasha- his mom- didn't say anything about...

He sniffled a cry, his eyes watering and his throat tightened.

"She's just being nice... for now. She's gonna be disappointed that you aren't perfect. She want's a daughter not a 'son'."

Please shut up.

"I'm only telling the truth~ The voice cooed. "Oh just think! What will Harley do when he finds out you're lying to him."

I'm not lying to him! I'm a boy. A MAN!

"Are you? Or are you just doing this for attention?" Peter shuddered, practically seeing the sneer of the girl. Someone he could never truly run away from.

What would Harley say?

Gosh, he's so stupid! Why would he run from his mother when she stood there and protected him?!

He sniffled quietly to himself and tried to enjoy the city view.

It was dark, the few stars peeking through the fog and city lights sparkled softly. He listened to murmured conversations, the taps of feet against concrete, and cars honking in annoyance through traffic.

He was startled from his daydreams when he heard shouting.

"Peter! PETER! Come back!" He looked over the edge of the building to see Harley, with Natasha close behind. He quickly pulled his head back so they wouldn't see him.

They were- they were looking for him?

Across the street he spotted the others looking for him, wearing 'disguises'. Which mainly consisted of sunglasses and hats.

"Run."

What, why?!

"Don't you see! They don't trust you. They're gonna turn their back and kick you out faster than you can follow your senses."

They don't know I'm Spider-Man right? Peter pondered for a moment, his other voice persistent this was a bad idea. He took a deep breath, told Karen to alter his voice, and hopped down from the building, landing in his signature voice in front of Harley.

He jumped back startled and Natasha held onto his shoulders protectively.

"Uh... hey. What's with the shouting? Someone missing?" Harley furrowed his brows slightly. Peter swallowed nervously.

This was a bad idea.

"No duh." Harley quickly shook his confusion away. This was no time to be confused, they needed to find Peter.

"Uh... yeah actually my- my boyfriend Peter. Have you seen him around? Yay big, brown hair and eyes?" Peter grumbled under his breath, not liking being called short. Then again, Harley was taller than him... but only by, like, a few inches!
