PAST
1999

(This chapter contains scenes of Karan and Sakshi's love life during their college...They are random and we want you to catch on how close they were and why the breakup hurt them. This only started as a random but if this idea turns out good then we'll be doing some of the past chapters in the same way. We are doing this because if we go on describing everything in the past, present and the future..........I think we'll be the first one to give up on this book😂..okay bad joke....moving on...)

"So you're telling me that the day I offered you my handkerchief for you to tie it around your hands while playing tug of war was the day you realised you were in love with me?"

"Exactly!" Karan grinned and slumped onto the sofa when his girlfriend finally understood his story.

"I... don't understand," came Sakshi's voice from the other side of the call.

He sighed. "Because, that was the day I knew that I wasn't invisible to you! I mean, I didn't even ask for it and you knew that I wanted one so badly. Isn't that love?"

"But I remember that you refused to take mine."

"Uh..." He stopped playing with the telephone wire between his fingers.

"And then five minutes later I see a handkerchief wrapped around your hand," she added.

"About that...."

"I thought you refused mine because it was pink and mistook you for a sexist."

"But...."

"But, you only did that because you were this incredibly, six foot three inches handsome nerd and adorably, goofy dork who was extremely shy to even accept a handkerchief from the girl he was undeniably in love with." She concluded and Karan knew that she was grinning ear to ear.

"See.... not really complicated huh?!" He chuckled and earned one from her as well. "And the reason I came back with it wrapped around my hand is because I realised you cared for me, even though you barely knew this dork. So I didn't want to hurt your feelings, but now I hear it from your mouth and I did hurt you and offend you and made me an asshole in your heart."

"First of all, you are so whipped for me, Karan Jha."

"No...." he knew what was going to happen.

"So so whipped.."

"Stop..."he pleaded.

"Soft, mush, fluffed, smush...." she purred.

"Please..."

"Cotton candy is nothing compared to how soft you are for me."

"Enough, Sakshi," he palmed his face.

"I can't believe I had you wrapped around my finger this whole time."

"Uh huh..."

"Damn, the number of things I could've done..."

"Sakshi, you're the kind of girl who once made sure all the ants marched safely to their ant hill and when you saw one of them lost it's way, you took the ant on a leaf and led it's way to the hill."

"Don't even try to compare. That poor ant works all day and night and it deserves to go home, unlike someone here who sleeps all day"

"I WORKOUT OKAY? AND THAT'S A PRETTY TOUGH JOB" Karan screamed.

"Shhhh, don't scream!" A harsh whisper comes out from her side. "You're family is going to wake up."

"It's fine..." Yet he still turned to his right side to check if his parents' bedroom door was still closed, "Plus, I have my watch dog, so we don't have anything to worry about."
