Chapter 6: Fever

Flashback...

"GET AWAY Y/N! RUN AWAY!" I heard my mother shouting to me.

"SAVE YOURSELF! LIVE FOR US!" My dad shouted to me. Their bodies were smeared with blood. Tears cascading down my cheeks. I stood there frozen at the sight befalling before me. Bodies of once friends, family members...lying lifeless on the red stained ground. Screams of terror echoed in my ears. Flames enveloped the surrounding houses. I stood there still and petrified.

"LEAVE!" my parents shouted triggering my muscles to move. I started to run into the forest as fast as my legs could take me. I stumbled on a broken branch and fell down face first.

End of Flashback...

My eyes flickered open to someone yelling to me.

"Hey B..tch. Wake up! What's wrong with you?"

I turned my head to see the idiot that was shouting in my ear and it was none other than Hidan.

"What do you want? You are so loud!" I shouted back. Stilling laying in bed.

"Were you having a nightmare justing now? You were talking to yourself and crying?"

I stayed there silent for a moment. "Its nothing you need to worry about,"

"Hmph! Even when you are sick you still have that stubborn personality!"

"I bet you are the same. Anyways, how long have I been out for?"

"For about 3 days,"

"WHAT!!!" I got up suddenly and I think the sudden action didn't suit well with my body. My mind began to spin and throb. I started to fall back but I felt a pair of arms catch me and my head leaning on someone's chest.

"You idiot! You shouldn't get up so fast!" Hidan began yelling again. I realised who I was leaning against. For a moment there was silence in the room. An awkward silence. He hadn't been so nice to me before. My cheeks burned up and my heart started beating loud enough for even Hidan to hear. What was happening to me? Why do I feel this way?

He gently helped me lay back against the wall. I was so confused. Why was he acting so nice to me?

"Hey Hidan. Have you caught my fever?"

"No! Why are you asking that?"

"Just because you are being kind to me all of a sudden,"

"Ah...No.....Mn.....You are sick so I just helped you." He became flustered with the question and I thought I saw a pink tinge come upon his cheeks but maybe that was just the fever hitting up on me. I then noticed that my clothes were changed. Wait my clothes are different.

"HIDAN! Did you change my clothes?"

"Don't fuss I didn't change them. Konan did. I wouldn't want to see a plain body like yours." It was my fault for asking. I needed that. I couldn't build up the energy to bicker with him again. I was tired. I just kept quiet at the comment.

Hidan signed at my reaction to keep quiet. "Do you still have a temperature?" He closed into me and rested his forehead onto mine. I flinched at the sudden skin contact and our proximity.

"What are you doing Hidan?"

"I am check..ing your...tem...pera...ture." (Hidan came to a sudden realisation on his actions)

We remained in that position. Our eyes met. I couldn't pull myself away. I seemed to have fallen into his gaze. We stared for what seemed like hours.

Suddenly... Knock...Knock...

"Hey Hidan! Is she up yet?" Pain came in through the door. We quickly pulled away from each other and turned our heads so our backs were facing one another. My cheeks were hot. What was I doing? Why didn't I push him away? These feelings are unnecessary. They are making me lose focus.
