Nick stayed true to his word and only showed up for one class. For the majority of the school day he actually was off campus, walking around and enjoying the sunlight before he had to return later on that day for detention, because he had no point and honestly wasn't in the mood to go for extra days because he was too lazy to attend when told to.
He wasn't really one to listen to certain people, but when his nerves being irked are on the line, he'll do what's needed to be done to to stop that.
Even if he arrives late. Nicholas took his sweet time making his way down the hall to the classroom. Even with no one watching him that he knew of, his cockiness was almost blinding.
Especially to Kai, who decided to bump his shoulder.
The wrong one.
"Shit!" He groans, holding his shoulder before looking at Kai, who let out an audible giggle.
Nick sped his pace up, throwing the bag off his other shoulder and letting it hit the ground. That didn't cause her to turn around, but what did was his hands firmly grasping the top loop of her backpack, yanking her back then hitting her up against the lockers. The contact echoed through the hallway but no one came to check.
Her eyes were as wide as saucers as she looked the angry boy in the eyes. He got closer, causing her to hit the lockers again.
"I dislocated my fucking shoulder and you thought it was a good idea to hit it?" His voice lowers, almost a whisper.
All she let out was a whimper before she spoke. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. I was just—"
"Trying to piss me off?"
"No! Nick, it's my bad."
They stood like that for a little longer. He was taking a good look at her as she obviously began to calm down, her lids lowering over her deep brown eyes and her pouty lips parting slightly. She looks past him for a moment before looking back at him.
"Do you have detention today?" Kai asks.
He steps back. "Yes. Why?"
She slowly raises her hand to check her watch. "We'd be considered late in two minutes."
"Is she going to add more days?" The normal tone of his voice returns.
"No—"
"Then I don't care. Why do you?" He interrupts her.
She adjusts the straps of her book bag as she takes in account he is obviously checking her out. Her top was loose but cropped, showing her belly button and the stud piercing that resides above it. She pulled down her shirt nervously but to no avail.
Kai turns her head. "We still have to be there."
"Then let's go."
He purposely lets her walk in front of him as he follows behind. Nick picks his bag up off the ground from
where he dropped it."So, Kai, why do you have detention? You seem like a good girl."
She stops mid step and turns around for a moment before continuing on. "I was late one too many times. Automatic detention. You know, I would ask you but I could care less,"
"Wasn't doing all that talking a few seconds ago," He chuckled.
She didn't say anything else to him, but instead sped up her walk and made a sharp turn into the classroom. He caught up soon enough just to be met with Mrs. Green, sporting a black tight dress, a fit to where a girl might be close to being dress coded.
The woman didn't ask him any questions as he made his way over to a desk. Brandon was in parallel desk to him, nodding towards him as he returned the favor.
The only person that was not in there from yesterday was the giant named Caleb. He never added anything to the classroom anyhow.
Edwin eyes scoped the room out, before looking over at Brandon and Nick and giving them a suggestive wink. Brandon smiled, while Nick recoiled in confusion.
"The fuck was that!?" He mouthed to Brandon, who's only response was him dry humping the air, biting his lip. He audibly gagged, yet not loud enough to catch attention.
"Mrs. Green," He walks up to her desk, his voice low. Her posture automatically changed, it became more attentive. Imagine a teenager being the peak of your middle aged miserable life.
"I don't know how to print these documents correctly. Every time, it's just not right. Honestly it's hard. So would you give me a hand in the computer lab?" The innuendo didn't fly over anyone's head in the room who might've been listening.
She grew red in the face. "Of course."
Nick had never seen her get up so fast to help a student out. The remaining four just sat in silence moments after they had went and took a trip across the school, which this time was a bit more convient for shenanigans.
This time around Austin had taken a dap pen out of his pocket and take a quick puff, the relief on his face when he did was indescribable. Kai took note of this and had gotten up out of her seat to sit next to him and take a puff too.
Brandon had moved over his friend too. While was on his phone, Nick watched as she put it to her lips so casually and let the cloud flow out of her mouth. Her eyes lowered, the high taking over quickly.
"Just go over there and say something, stop stalking her," Brandon was leaned over towards Nick, who sucked his teeth.
He shook his head, watching her take another hit. Her smile was lazy, not forced nor genuine. It was a bit amusing to him as he glanced over at Austin, who had at some point pulled out another dap pen. He noticed a few stitches above his right eyebrow before pulling his attention back to Kai, who was looking at him and honestly checking him out.
He took in her deep brown almost black hair and the way it framed her face so precisely. Her curly bangs were also doing it for him— he couldn't stop looking at her as she looked at him.
"I need to go to the restroom." She says allowed, still making full eye contact with him before turning and leaving.
The amount of noise he made, maneuvering through desk and tripping over his own book bag were pathetic. He was okay with looking like a fool for some pussy.
As they left the room Austin and Brandon looked at each other and smiled simultaneously. Even though they hadn't said any words, they head a mutual agreement with what they knew was bound to happen.
