I froze on my spot, the intruder walked towards me. I willed myself not to run, they're not going to hurt me. I felt a presence sit down next to me, even sitting I can tell I wouldn't be able to win a fight with this person.
"I guess I can share my rock." I looked up to see the blue orbs of someone's eyes, which held amusement. Being this close to someone was not what i really wanted. The fading light shone off the boy's dark hair.
"I don't see your name on it." The intruder had the audacity to laugh at my retaliation, yes it was a weak one but he didn't have to rub it in.
"Touche." A lopsided smile graced his lips. "I don't believe we've met." I looked back at the water that was glistening in the sun.
"That's because we haven't." I pulled on my hair, a nervous habit I've picked up in the last few months.
"Well then, i guess i should introduce myself to the beautiful damsel." I couldn't suppress the blush that came with that compliment, I can't remember when someone had ever said anything like that to me or even if anyone had. "The name's Xzavier, but everyone just calls me X." I had to hide a giggle at that, Xzavier is a unique name but then again i get the feeling this boy is not like the others either.
" Xzavier is not a name you hear everyday, but everyone calls me Alex." He nods his head.
"A lovely name for a lovely girl. " I looked at him incredulously, that would be the second time in under a minute he wouldv'e complemented me.
"You don't know me, i could be a criminal on the run for all you know." I somehow managed a lame joke, but he laughed none the less.
"And I could be a serial killer for all you know as well. What would you be on the run for? Being too stunning?" I was shocked for words, here is a guy who knows nothing about me execpt my name call me beautiful. Even though I told myself not to be affected, the blush creeped up anyways. The sun was now down, and I realized just how hungry I was. I needed to go shopping for food again, I will do it tomorrow, I had enough for tonight.
"Well thank you for the complements, I really should be going though. Sorry for making you share your rock." I quickly made my escape, without leaving him room to respond. Rude, I know, but I was starting to feel uncomfortable with him there. Sure he meant no harm but I couldn't help but feel jittery around new people in general. I ran back to the house and locked all the doors and windows before I let out a shaky breath. After a big dinner, if you can even call it that, of granola and the chocolate I'd bought myself earlier I went to bed. Hoping with all my might that the nightmares that have plagued me for the last few months will not make an appearance.
