Ridwan Badamasi popularly known as
The_kiddler was born and brought up in Kano state. He has no nicknames except for the variation of his name people are always mispronouncing.He was born on the 6th of November.
He is currently a 3rd year biochemistry student at Bayero university.
His favourite colour is black and a shade of brown.
He is currently single.
His hobbies are reading poetry, watching football, discovering music/ new artistes, watching movies and generally being somewhere quiet with a good book in his hands.
He is popularly known as the writer of the book titled; To love and be loved.
His other works are; Art of love, blood of kings, dirty gold, rose and ichor, a collection of poetry, hangman's note, silhouette, and broken beauties--the sequel to, to love and be loved.
Like every other author, Ridwan also has his challenges when writing and when asked about his challenges regarding writing, he said;
Writing is a tough, demanding and lonely craft. My greatest challenge would be having to cross the hurdle of giving up and thinking “Oh well, at least I tried.” I have had to tackle an imposter syndrome of sorts whenever I question myself. Am I a writer, or, an aspiring writer? It is also for this reason I don’t call myself a poet. I don’t think I’m there. Not yet. Writing is like putting together a 5,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. It’s not easy. It’s never easy.His motivation regarding writing, he said;
Writing is beautiful. Every writer has a story to tell—a story only they could tell. Fortunately, I keep a quote of Hemingway taped to my reading table. “Those who say they want to be writers, and aren’t, don’t.”There are hundreds of thousands of books and articles dealing with challenges writers face. But at the end of the day, it’s up to me to type that first sentence, the first paragraph, the first chapter, then the next, and the next…
It also helps that I’m in love with literature. The very first novel I remember reading was William Golding’s Lord of The Flies which I found amongst my mother’s things. I think I was 12 then. I barely understood it, but I read and read it until the cover disintegrated and the pages ran away. I’ve rarely gone a day since then without reading a book. So I think my greatest motivation comes from the need and the want to write. If I don’t write I’d be at loss as to what to do with all the things in my head. My head would probably explode. It helps that I have a big head.
He has been on Wattpad fo a over a long time and he has his fair share of people he has met and they include but not limited to;jirogzy Lexistorm Iyanuoluwa-Temi timibankole Illusionistic3 maramartha Nikepo
He has learnt from so many on Wattpad and he won't like to mention their names.
When asked of his role model, he stated;
ur role model: The major quality of a role model is having the ability to inspire. I could probably list a hundred people. But with regards to the line of my passion, I’ll choose Charles Bukowski. I don’t think any other writer’s work was influenced by the socioeconomic and cultural ambience of his home like his was. An exception is Achebe. His works are best known for their dirty realism, something I have tried to replicate in Silhouette. Fiction is mostly seen as flowery attempts at explaining life, but dirty realism tells you the truth. There is no pretty prose, no attempts at justifying the ills of the society. Just plain unadorned truth. Dirty realism is characterized by an economy of words and marked by characters all suffering from some internal desperation. Greedy politicians, bad cops, thieves, serial killers, pick pockets, drug addicts. People who’d end up being the villain of 90% of the stories out there. Bukowski was a master at this.But Bukowski was a notorious drunk. He once stumbled into a hospital bleeding his insides out and he was advised not to drink after that. He then found he could write well while sober. That didn’t stop him from drinking though.
His favourite musicians are Melanie Martinez, Lorde, Banks, Marina and The Diamonds, Florence + The Machines, Sigrid, Ellie Goulding and Billie Eilish. But Land Del Rey is my favorite musician.
His favourite musician in Nigeria are temmie ovwasa, brymo, ASA and MI
