When I woke up, the sun was covered by a layer of thick, gray clouds. Rain threatened to start falling at any second and I smiled... I loved rainy days. Before I managed to get myself out of bed, rain fell from the sky, hitting the ground hard and fast. I stood up and ran my fingers through my hair, watching the rain fall for a few minutes before going down to the kitchen.

"Morning, Tay," I spotted the blond at the counter, hunched over a notebook.

"Morning, Maia," she responded, engrossed in her work. "Can you get yourself something for breakfast? I have to go into the studio today to do some serious reworking of this song."

I nodded, "Of course. Have fun!"

Taylor rolled her eyes as she stood up and slipped on a raincoat, "I'll be back by dinner."

I waved good-bye to her as she left, turning to the refrigerator to search for something to eat. Today seemed like a good day to sit inside and watch stupid TV for hours. To relax. I grabbed some left-over spaghetti and stuck it in the microwave to heat it. Meredith sauntered around my feet, appearing to try to get my attention. I laughed, reaching down and petting her before the microwave beeped crazily.

I took the bowl of saghetti and sat down at the kitchen counter, grabbing a fork and beginning to eat. After I finished, I set the plate in the dishwasher and went into the other room to watch TV. Meredith hopped up and sat next to me, begging for my attention. I gladly gave it to her, smiling as I ran my fingers through her soft fur.

"You're so cute," I murmured, turning the television on to watch Netflix. "I bet you love living with Taylor... you're so spoiled."

I shook my head, mentally scolding myself for talking to a cat.

After several hours of watching mindless shows, I decided I should do something. I picked my phone up and dialed Michael.

"Hello, Maia?" he answered on the second ring... but who's counting.

"Hey! Taylor ditched me for the day--album business--so are you doing anything?" I asked, my voice coming off a lot more confident and airy than I felt.

My stomach felt like it was going to explode and my mind was racing. But I attempted to keep it together.

"Yeah... Fido in twenty?" he asked and immediately, I grinned.

"Sounds good! See you then!" I said before hanging up.

I immediately jumped off of the couch, panicked. I had to make myself look presentable. I ran up to my room and blasted some Taylor music, looking at myself in the mirror. I had a lot of work to do.

"RIGHT THERE WHERE WE STOOD.... WAS HOLY GROUND!!" I yelled as I aggressively danced around the room, swiping blush onto my cheeks.

Finally, I was ready. I took a last look at myself before grabbing my purse and heading out. I sported a light sundress with ballet flats. My hair was slightly pulled back and my eyeliner was on point. I took a deep breath and left the apartment, my stomach twisting in knots.

Right. Left. Right. Left. I nervously approached the small coffee shop like store named Fido, attempting to calm my racing heart. It was so stupid... to get this worked up over a boy. I entered the restuarant and found a table--where Taylor and I usually sat.

"Hey, Maia!" the waitress named Emma waved to me and I smiled back.

"Usual, please," I said, looking around for Michael.

She nodded and left, leaving me to my thoughts and nerves. I pulled out my phone and examined myself in the front facing camera, attempting to make myself look okay.

"You look beautiful," a voice said and I jumped, looking up to see Michael.

Instantly, a smile spread across my face and I grinned, easing into the state of comfort yet nervous excitement I got around him.

A/N: FINALLYYYYYYY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!! MY PRESENT FOR YOUUU haha no one cares that much about this hahaha but i hope you have an amazing Christmas! I got a Polaroid camera (!!!!!!) and tay merch so i'm happy :)
