Chapter Twenty One

Izuku POV

"Deku, look I drew you, Kat and Todo," Eri exclaims as she runs towards me with her drawing.

"I don't think I will ever be used to her calling you that," Kacchan says.

"Well get over it. She doesn't pronounce anyone's full name," Todoroki comments.

Eri stops in front of me with a big smile. "Look, look, look." She waves the paper in front of my face.

I take the paper from her hands and look at it. She was getting a lot better at drawing. Though she still only used one color per person. I was drawn in all green, Kacchan was drawn in orange, and Todoroki was drawn in pink.

It made sense that she was getting better at drawing. She wasn't allowed to be too active because everyone was still worried about how injured she was. So in her free time, she would draw.

"This is really good Eri," I say and show Todoroki and Kacchan.

"This is really good," Todoroki agrees. "But can I ask why I am pink?"

"Because red and white make pink," Eri answers as she takes the paperback.

Monoma walks into the room with a small smile on his face. It takes Eri a second to realize who we are all looking at. She looks behind her and a huge smile breaks out across her face.

Eri had become very attached to Monama. It surprised me at first considering Monama hated non-Infected.

"I thought you hated... What do you call them? Fleshy," Kacchan says as if he was reading my mind.

"I do. But Eri isn't really fleshy," Monama says.

"So does that mean you don't hate me?" I ask him.

Monama just rolls his eyes and walks out of the room with Eri.

"He is weird," I say without really thinking.

"He has always been weird," Todoroki says.

"What are we going to do?" I ask my boyfriends.

We were all cuddling on the living room couch just hanging out happily before I decided to open my mouth.

"About what?" Todoroki asks confused.

Kacchan stops playing with my hair and gives me a puzzled look.

"About life," I state. "Things can't be this peaceful forever. And even if they are how long do you think we can live here?"

"Why would we live anywhere else? It is not like there are open apartments. Especially for Infected," Kacchan tells me like I am not aware of that fact.

"I know. But the league gets more people all the time. This place will be full at some point. And resources can only last so long. We have already run out of soda," my voice starts to speed up as panic rises in me.

We had no plans for the future. We didn't even give plans for tomorrow. What was I going to do if Todoroki or Kacchan died? I won't be able to help them.

"Hey Izuku, we will be okay," Todoroki tells me. He says it with such certainty. It is like he has seen the future and knows it for a fact.

"Okay," Is all I can say back.

"I want to do something," Kacchan announces.

I look at him for a second before realizing that I am laying on him so he can't get up.

"Oh sorry," I stand up so Kacchan can.

Kacchan stands up and looks at me and Todoroki. "Do you two want to come with or am I going to be doing reckless things alone?" He asks us.

"What kind of reckless things?" Todoroki asks.

"I kinda want to get new decorations or maybe some more entertainment," Kacchan says with a shrug.

It wasn't our turn to scavenging so that meant we wouldn't have to look for things for anyone else. This could be fun.

"Sure I will go," I say then turn to Todoroki.

"Yeah, I mean someone has to make sure you two don't die," Todoroki says.

"Where have you guys been?" Is the first thing we hear when we get back.

I look to where the voice came from and see Kaminari and Kirishima.

"We went out to go find stuff for our rooms," I answer pointing to the fairy lights that I was holding.

"Did you get me anything?" Kaminari asks with a toothy smile.

"Not because you didn't ask and it isn't our turn to scavenge," Kacchan says bluntly.

"Wow bro cruel," Kirishima says in an overdramatic hurt voice.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm mean whatever," Kacchan rolls his eyes and starts to walk downstairs. "Come on let's set up your room Deku."

We walk downstairs and to my room. It was still plain and boring because I never knew what to look for. And I didn't want to bother the other people who were scavenging.

Todoroki and I start to put up my fairy lights while Kacchan organizes my books. We had found a lot of new books.

As everyone worked on different things we talked about random things. Things felt so normal that it was easy to forget that we were in the middle of an apocalypse. That we could die at any minute.

The worst thing about being in love being the apocalypse is everything is temporary. But I wouldn't give it up for anything. Because at least we are Not Dead Yet.
