COLBYS P.O.V.
Two weeks.
It's been two weeks since that video of Hannah has been released.
It's been two weeks since the FBI has tried to trace the video back to Hannah's captors.
It's been two weeks and there is still noting I can do to help Hannah.
Hope that had been renewed from the video was slowly disappearing. With no new leads everyone once again started to forget about Hannah and she was just the girl who saved a lot of students at school. Sure she was a hero, but to the outside world she was someone who had died a hero, like there was no chance we would find her.
It has gotten to the point where I spend more time at the police station than my own house. I sometimes go days without seeing my parents since I leave early in the mornings and don't come back until it's past midnight. It made no sense! The video should have lead us straight to Hannah by now! Yet we still were no where near finding them.
At least that's what I thought.
When I go into the police station that next day I am met with complete silence. This wouldn't have been weird except for the fact that the only reason it was silent is because nobody was in sight.
Offices were empty, the lobby was deserted, even the security guards who watched the entrance were no where to be seen. Deciding to track everyone down, I started going down the hallways, and through the offices, searching for a familiar face. With no luck I went down the last hallway where I could hear faint voices from in the main conference room.
Walking in I am greeted with the sight of everyone packed into the tiny room, with barely any room to breather, let alone fit another person in their. I saw the Sheriff at the table in the center of the room, along with the captains of the FBI and Secret Service.
Squeezing, pushing, and elbowing my way through the crowd, I make it to the Sheriff. "What is going on? Why is everyone here? What happened?!?!"
The head of Secret Service steps in front of me, forcing me back and into another cop. "This is not meant for public eyes. How did you even get in here?"
The Sheriff squeezes over to us and outs his hand on the guys shoulder. "Jim this is Colby. It's ok if he's here. He is the one who was in there with her and has helped with the search."
The Sheriff then turns to me and says, "We found her. It turns out we were tracing the video correctly, we just stopped when it seemed like it was getting us nowhere. We were able to trace them to a laptop that was used to post the video that is currently in Lexington Nebraska. It's in an abandoned barn in the middle of the country. The reason we are all here is because we have a plan that's going to take place as soon as everyone is ready."
"Finally! What's the plan? What am I going to be doing? How soon can we start? Let's go! We don't have time you can tell me on the way!" I spit out while turning around to walk out the door.
"Not so fast!" The Sheriff grabs my arm and pulls me back to him. "You are staying here. It's to dangerous for you to come and there is nothing you can do or say to make me change my mind. Your job is to stay with Hannah's family and keep them as calm as possible since they may finally be able to see their daughter again."
"Why can't Kaleb do that! I have to go! You can't make me stay!"
"Damn it son listen to me! I will duct tape you to a chair if I need to but you are not coming and that is final! This is not up for debate so I am going to have Officer O'Brian escort you to the parents house. We are leaving in thirty minutes and don't think you can follow us because if you jeopardize this mission then remember it could be your fault for what ever happens."
