AN: The drawing is Velia! (Velia means hidden or veiled in Italian) I'm super excited for her character because I'm basing her off of my favorite 'Demon Slayer' character Nezuko!

The next few weeks were spent in a similar way. Wake up, eat, train powers, eat, train physically, eat, secret power training, sleep, repeat. She hated the repetitiveness of it all. Although the chief always managed to come up with a new insult for every day. Her anger towards him built up more every day. She had to force herself to stop her powers from retaliating. It seemed she wasn't the only one that disliked him though. Moriko had also found out how the triplets were so used to the flogging; they pranked the chief as many times as they could. They made the flogging look easy but she would soon find out just how hard it really was.

It was a normal day, the same routine as always. She was attempting to shift into a dragon to see if she could shift into fictional creatures. She was quickly becoming frustrated because she had never had problems shifting into animals before. Her frustrated thoughts were interrupted by a crash. she turned to see what the commotion was to see the chief towering over a small girl, who was flickering in and out of focus. "You incompetent little child! Is the only way you can learn through violence?!" he yelled at her while the girl shook like a leaf. Moriko's face flushed red in anger. She took deep breaths to calm herself down so she didn't cause trouble for herself by interfering. She needed to look out for herself, not some random child. But all her remaining control was lost when Chief lifted a whip--which he constantly carried on his hip--down on the defenseless child. One moment, she stood as a human a couple of feet away and the next, a large dragon was hurtling towards the b*stard.

She had lost control of her powers, her mind, everything. She could taste a metallic liquid, see flashes of red--from her anger or from the blood she was unsure--hear screams of pain and terror. Her raged state didn't end until the screams ended. When Moriko could think for herself again, she found herself standing over a mass of blood, guts, and limbs. She stared at what was once the chief and a couple of guards, horrified and shocked. Stumbling backward, her back hit a strong chest as warm arms wrapped around her trembling body and twirled her around. Zoltan stared down at her with unreadable eyes. The reality of what she had just done hit her and she released a sob, not because she was sad about the chief's death but because she had killed someone. Moriko had taken a life for the first time and it felt horrible. She had wanted to protect the little girl but she had gone too far. Moriko was also afraid of the consequences of her actions. The chief, although annoying, was in a very high position of power. Would she be killed? What would happen?

"Moriko. It'll be okay, I promise. You just wanted to protect Velia. We'll protect you," Zoltan tried to comfort her, his eyes now obviously showing his concern and worry for her. When he mentioned 'we', Moriko looked up and saw all of the Orkulindirs surrounding her with proud looks on their faces while the small girl--Velia--looked at her gratefully. They had never seen anyone stand up against the chief besides the triplets, especially not for someone else. But one face stood out from the rest. A boy, older than the rest at about 17, had a proud look on his face but his eyes showed caution.

She was shaken from deciphering the look when a large group of guards rushed into the room. They took in the sight of dead bodies and the blood all over Moriko, and they surrounded Moriko. The triplets stepped up to defend her but she shot them a look. She would accept her punishment. Afterward, she would begin her plan of escape but she couldn't afford to leave now without a plan. So she calmly obeyed the aggressive guards and followed them out of the room. They walked down several halls that she didn't recognize before reaching a hallway, unlike the others. Stepping onto the marble floor, she looked around at the nice walls and saw a set of stairs leading up out of the hole she and the others lived in. Moriko could only assume that whoever she was being taken to was very important and she wasn't feeling confident about whether she'll return alive or not. Once they reached the top of the stairs, they were met with a set of grand double doors. She was not at all prepared when the guards opened the doors and showed who was waiting on the inside.
