The time was up. Now was the time to act, it was now or never. There had been no sign of movement from anyone inside the saloon but that didn't mean much, Lucas, Bill Silas and the rest of the group knew that they had to act first.
"Silas, Rose, you best get in position now. They won't see you if you stay low when you're up on the rooftops." Lucas ordered, "Bill, ladies, you get inside that door. It normally stays unlocked so get inside but hold tight until you hear the shooting start."
Bill, Cathy and Emily nodded in acknowledged and made their way to the back of the saloon. Luckily for them they would remain out of sight and harms way, for the time being, Lucas waited until he could see Silas in position.
"Now, we will wait five minutes before we approach the saloon and draw them out on to the balcony."
Ira and Pearl waited in silence until Lucas gave the go-ahead, as they did each minute felt like an hour. When the marshal finally gave the nod they slowly made their way to the saloon, as they walked it seemed to be much further away than normal. Once they reached the saloon Lucas called out.
"Abraham Cohen this is marshal Lucas Andrews speaking, I want you to come out and explain your actions," Lucas commended with absolute authority. He didn't have to wait for long to receive a response. A few seconds later Abraham slowly walked out on to the balcony with six of his hired help, three on each side of him.
"So you want me to explain my actions marshal?" Exclaimed Abraham "I thought it would be pretty obvious! I wanted to exploit this town and its citizens for my own gain. I thought it would be best to cover my tracks by burning down the town, killing all the inhabitants and faking my own death!"
"Shit, I think that is the first time that bastard has told the truth in his whole life," Pearl muttered under her breath, Lucas and Ira nodded in agreement.
"Abraham, I'll make you an offer, stop this madness! Call off your men and put an end to this assault and we can forget this whole situation, we'll put it down to a huge misunderstanding," Lucas demanded.
For a moment the standoff went silent and no one spoke. Abraham then stepped forward leant on the balustrade of the balcony to address his would-be adversaries.
"Here is my counter offer, GO FUCK YOURSELVES," roared Abraham with furious anger on his face. With that, he turned to head back inside, before he could one of his hired thugs was hit by an arrow.
Abraham walked forward to investigate and another mercenary was hit by a bullet to the head, with that Lucas, Ira and Pearl drew their guns and started shooting. Before they knew it Abraham was the only one still standing on the balcony, that was until he was hit. Not just once but twice, a bullet hit him in his tight and an arrow hit him in the shoulder.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!" Lucas commanded, his battle cry rang out loudly. "We need Abraham alive".
"At least the odds are now more than in our favour," Ira exclaimed.
"We need to hold tight until we see anything of Bill and Pearl's associates," replied Lucas.
At the sound of the first gunshot, Bill had opened the door which was unlocked and made his way to the bar but kept low to avoid detection. Four of the so-called Devil's disciples were in the bar area backs turned to the bar, they were obviously waiting to be summoned. When they weren't one of them made his way over to the bar.
"Y'all want whiskey, gin or tequila?" The man slurred his words. It was clear that the reason they didn't get involved was that they were far too drunk. The man reached over the bar and as he did Bill grabbed the man and rammed his knife in the man's jaw and up into his skull.
