Grayson: Do you like me?

Not wanting to deal with him at the moment, I ignored the text until morning. I have a big day tomorrow baby sitting Tanya's kids. I really want this phone.

When I woke up, I remembered the text from Grayson. Groaning I rolled out of bed, and snatched the phone from the nightstand beside my bed. Rereading the text, I remembered why I chose to ignore it. I sat back down on my bed. Grunting again, I managed to type a reply.

Addie: I don't know yet.

Grayson: You act like you do, and then get upset when I am with another girl.

Gah, I don't have time for this!

Addie: Well, maybe I do. But that doesn't mean you the only guy in my life.

There, if I tell him this, maybe he'll leave me alone about this. He was really starting to annoy me with all these girls and feelings and such. Quickly, I added another text.

Addie: Do you like me?

Grayson: What do you think?

Addie: I thought you did.

Grayson: You thought wrong.

My mouth dropped to the floor. What does he mean I thought wrong? Then what was the whole paper plane about? I decided to call him. If he was going to say this to me, he was going to say it to my face- well through the phone.

"Then why did you give me the paper plane." I asked when he finally answered.

"Did you ever think maybe it was a symbol or a test?"

My eyes widened at this. What does he mean a symbol?

"A symbol for what?"  I almost screamed through the phone.

I was really getting aggravated now.

"Ya see, I have this theory about life Adalyn. Paper is like life. It's tested by how much weight can be put on it, until it's fragile material collapses under the pressure. You are like a paper plane. I knew this. I thought you could handle the pressure. You have handled it well, but that doesn't mean I like you. It was a test. Which you passed." he said soflty into the phone.

What on earth is he talking about? So I was only a part of a test? Why on Earth would I even need to be tested?I am so done with him and his bull crap. The worst part about it all, was that I actually started to develop feelings for this maniac. I did not just say that.

Addie: I'm so done with you.

Grayson: When did we ever start? ;)

Oh, no he didn't.

Addie: WE STARTED WHEN YOU STOPPED ME IN THE HALL. Your goofy little plane had me blushing in Literacy. You started this war and I'm ending the battle right now.

The message was marked read, but he never replied. Hear that? Oh yeah, it's the sound of no comeback. I mentally high fived myself.

I looked over at the digital clock on my nightstand. It was eight in the morning and I already heard my mom’s balled up fist knocking on my wooden door.  She cracked the door to see if I was awake.

“Honey, are you ready to babysit?”

“I’ll be ready by 9 nine. Can you text Mrs. Tanya for me telling her that I will be over there at nine thirty?”

“Yes honey. Just make sure to be ready and get there by nine thirty to make a good first impression!”
