Today I have talked to an Indonesian friend and I want to highlight the conversation that we had.

First, I had to think and speak as an Indonesian because he couldn't really understand my language.

I'm impressed because I can talk Idonesian for an hour. So long for a normal person such as me😎

Second, as I try to talk with him, I ask some questions so that I would explore the culture he's in.

He said he's from Jawa Barat. So in my mind, there could only be a Malay, Java or Sudanese living there. By the way he pronounce the world, I can know that he is Java, the language is formal and very high usage of Javanese such as Koe (kau in Malay).

Third and the best important part is that I used my knowledge of history. This can be shown when he said something about pesantren (a place to study religion) and I said something about other names of pesant in Malaysia such as pondok, dayah, tahfiz.

Lastly, he was impressed to talk to me and wanted to learn some Malay from me. Well I said If I had the time and not busy writing some stories, then proceed. If busy, otherwise. That's all from my conversation story with an Indonesian person. Feel like sharing this.
