Khun Rain was not amused. She looked at the woman before her. Despite the calm and elegant demeanor displayed, the elder knew better than to let it fool her. Before her was a selfish and greedy woman who only ever thought about herself.

"So you won't accept, Alice?" She repeated, pursing her lips and curling her fingers around the tea cup. She was met with a smirk and cold glance.

"I'm not stupid," Alice stated haughtily. "I know of the fondness you have for my son. And I'm more than aware of your intention to have me thrown into jail for the way I've treated my children. Agreeing to have an engagement between my son and your grandson would not benefit me in the slightest."

"I see," Khun Rain drew out. This was why she never got along with Alice. It wasn't just a matter of how she treated her children, but the way her mind was constantly creating plans. From the moment they met - years before King was born - she could tell the younger girl would grow up to be a monster of a human. And she was correct. She feared the young girl's eyes and therefore made the decision to look out for her. She watched as the young girl turned into a lady and began taking actions to make herself into a powerful woman.

Alice found herself a man who would give her children of good genes despite knowing about his situation with his pregnant girlfriend. She promised him the money that would help support him and his girlfriend and unborn child as long as he married her and gave her children - specifically a girl and boy. A girl for the sake of marrying her off, and a boy for the sake of making him her puppet heir. And she managed to grab just that almost instantly.

It wasn't within Khun Rain's prediction, however, that the vile woman would go as far as not only divorcing him and telling lies about his 'affair' to the public and her children, but she also had the audacity to go against her promise and not give them the support she had promised. To make matters worse, she kept cutting off his chances of finding work and lured him into becoming a gambler by sending him one of her people who was disguised to help him.

Alice didn't stop there. She ruined her ex-husband's kind child by having him be forced into a situation of joining a gang that eventually got him addicted to drugs. The once clever child who had a bright future ahead of him was now nothing more than a gangster. And the poor mother of the child had to watch as two of her most important people ruined themselves.

Khun Rain would've stepped in, but at this point it was too late to help them when they were addicted to their new lifestyle. She tilted her head, a bitter smile on her face. "You're a disgusting one, child."

"Disgusting?" Alice repeated in a rather cheerful manner. "No. Smart is what I am. Now then, I must get going. It was nice having a chat with you. Khun. Rain."

She stood up, grabbing her purse. "However, I will warn you now: keep getting involved, and you will no longer see any life in my son's eyes."

Khun Rain shuddered at her warning, sending her a glare. "You do not deserve to call him your son."

She shrugged, sending her a mocking expression. "I gave birth to him, giving me all the rights."

The elder watched as she walked away. She took out the phone and placed it to her ear, "Did you catch all that?"

"Yeah," Came a soft reply.

"What do you suggest we do?"

"Rose," came the suggestion. "We need my daughter Rose to return."

"So you think so, too," she sighed. She looked at the now room temperature tea. "Hopefully she and the other youngsters are ready for what is to come."

King couldn't help worrying as Rune pulled him to sit on his lap, and hugged him tightly. He gently patted the senior's hand, wondering what the earlier phone call was about for Rune to start being all clingy. He took out his phone, opening a gaming app as Rune quietly embraced him, and put his chin on top of King's shoulder, peering over to observe him play the game.

"What's the matter?" King asked, bringing up a hand to ruffle Rune's messy hair.

"King," Rune called out.

"Yes?"

"King."

"Hmm?"

"I want to kiss you," he mumbled. After his grandmother called to inform him about her inability to help him, he found himself feeling helpless. He hadn't realized King's mother was powerful and clever enough to even outsmart his grandmother, and such thoughts made him wonder just how much King had to suffer through. At the same time, he was worried that he and King would never have a chance, and it broke his heart thinking about the younger boy marrying someone else.

He didn't realize just how strongly he truly felt the boy until now. And yet he couldn't even ask him to be his boyfriend due to the situation.

King blushed at Rune's statement. He put his phone on the coffee table, turning around and gently cupping Rune's face. His actions made Rune freeze and gulp. Slowly they leaned towards each other, their lips meeting for the first time. Pulling away, they both had on shy expressions, smiles plastered on their faces.

"Sweet," Rune teased, licking his lips. King turned a brighter shade of red, gently hitting the senior's chest - which earned a laugh. "Pervert," he grumbled. Rune simply ignored his statement and pulled him into another kiss, already addicted to it.

Rosie.Rose Too bad. It seems we'll miss each other. You and I have a lot to catch up on, Fern. 😊

She looked down at the picture, a fond smile on her face. There was knocking on the door. "Come in," she called out. A woman in her mid-fifties walked in, looking down on the ground with her hands folding in front of her in a polite manner.

"Your father has informed me to tell you, you shall be booked to return next week," she stated nervously.

She smiled, looking down at the photo and giving it a kiss. "See you soon, Prince."

[a/n: I would love to know what you all think of Rose, and who you think she is :)]
