"Up you go" muttered hadan as he helped his wife onto one of the families hyde. the beast groaning as the weight of Ayisha and Ahsoka were suddenly applied to it before going back to eating grass
"Uncle me to. i want to be with auntie." announced Roe as he tried to jump up onto the platform ontop of the animals back.
Hadan chuckled as he grabbed Roe before he could startle the beast and began to carry him to his sisters pack "oh no you dont. your staying with your mother and father."
Roe pouted, folding arms and looking grumpily at the ground.
Hadan looked at his sister who smiled warmly back at him. Roe had a habit of pouting whenever he didnt get his way.
Five of the village warriors rode over on there mounts. three on the native Quoi* the tall four legged beaked creature. all equipped with thin barbed fishing spears. another two on the large four legged Domi, the thick skinned creatures with some natural armor and a head perfect for ramming with its shovel shaped head instantly worrying Hadan.
"Are you expecting a large battle?" asked Hadan to the warriors, he didnt know them as they were from a different clan in the area who had volunteered to guard them as several of the families warriors had married and were taking the traditional vacation to a large nearby city until they ran out of the money the family had given them.
"Squatters keep on building forts on gas mines after getting kicked off there own. trying to become gas kingdoms. its been happening across the planet you know. with people doing the same with grain, spice, metals. anything that's important. the empires are closing in"
Hadan frowned. that wasnt good news. hopefully the clan leaders had heard of this and were planning for it.
"Do you think you will be able to fight if need be? or should we try and get more men."
"No no. we got this. besides we shouldnt wait to much longer in case someone does move in."
Hadan mulled it over. as the eldest son of the previous family leader he was in charge of keeping the family safe. but he knew that it would only upset everyone and make the real journey more tense if they decided to wait for the nessecary time it would take to get some more warriors to accompany them.
"Fine. but do not start a conflict" said hadan as he climbed aboard his own Quoi. tieing the reigns of two of his families pack animals to it. one with containers for the gas hanging from the hydes sides, the other with hadans family on it. Ayisha cuddling ahsoka as she fed her, and a tinge of sadness hit Hadan, so far Ayisha hadnt noticed the sickness and it seemed to have passed her but he still hoped that he could find a cure.
"Of course not. why would we?" asked the same warrior in a tone that was way to close to joking for Hadans comfort, as he moved his Quoi to escort the group along with his fellow young men.
Hadan grumbled as he tapped the left side of his Quoi's head twice. giving the command for it to start at a slow trot. the rest of the caravan following suit.

-three hours later-
"Alright. we'll set up camp here." announced Hadan. raising his right hand into the air and tapping once on the left side of his quoi's head.
"You sure about that son? theres a clearer section up ahead." called out fris. Hadans father. and quite possibly the most stubborn togruta to have ever been born on shili and survive.
"Yes father i know that but since its clear we'll have to walk farther to get wood and i dont want us to have to all go at once to get fire wood."
"Yes but we could also have one of the warriors you hired to accompany us just take a couple of us at a time to get firewood."
