A/N:I am not sure how you picture Maureen, but this how I pictured her for this story.  Since I am adopted, and the character I wrote is adopted, I am slightly basing her off of how I feel to be adopted.  If you want to see anything please message me or review please.  Thanks for reading!

Sometimes people leave you
halfway through the wood.
Others may deceive you.
You decide what's good.
You decide alone.
But no one is alone.

"She and I went to school together." Lacey explained. "I was the theatre kid and perfect child in every parents eyes. Maureen was the rebelious and popular child." Lacey shook her head. "I got bullied a lot..."Lacey paused."by Maureen." Lacey shook her head again. "I guess she was my bully turned sister."  Lacey held her waist uncomfortably looked at Olivia.

"Lacey, I'm so sorry." Olivia spoke unsure of what to say.

"It's fine." Lacey looked at her.

"I wish.....I could have been there." Olivia explained. "I wanted to be a SVU detective because I was a child that was a product of rape. There wasn't much love. My mom was an alcoholic growing up. I didn't think I could love someone. But I was wrong..." Olivia began to cry. "I'm so sorry that I missed out on your life."

"Wow.....I could have seen a different life for you." Lacey hugged her mother. Olivia wrapped her arms around her daughter. "From my favorite musical...INTO THE WOODS...'No One Is Alone.' We are together now and were not gonna be alone." Lacey gave a slight chuckle.

"I want to give you something." Olivia brought out a journal that first date was July 10th, 1984.

"These are letters to me." Lacey breezed through to see what it was.

Yes, from the first time I knew about you to everyday after. " Olivia smiled. "This is the first journal out of many. I'll give you the rest when you're finished with the first." Olivia smiled."That book goes from home and work with me, this one is dated when I found out to your birth. Now it is in the arms of who it is for."Olivia smiled again.

"Do you want to meet Daniel now or after you get off work? I should probably go he probably missing me. Here is my hotel address and room number." Lacey smiled.

"Here is my address and number." Olivia smiled. "I would love to meet Daniel after my shift." Olivia smiled.

Lacey smiled at her baby boy who was laughing at a face she had made. He would have to go to the hospital tomorrow for a check up about the cancer. She picked up her son, when she heard a knock. She opened the door to reveal Olivia on the other side.

"Hi." Olivia smiled and waved to the boy. "You must be Daniel."

"Daniel, this is your other nana. The one we came out here to find." Lacey tickled her son. " Would you like to hold Danie." Lacey passed the baby to her biological mother.

"Hey buddy , I got you something that you can remember me by. "Olivia grabbed a stuffed bear with a NYPD shirt on.

"Ohhh look at that buddy." Lacey laughed as he took the bear. Daniel started to chew on the bears ear. He was really happy with his new toy. "Thank you, he loves it." Lacey started to peppered the baby with kisses. He giggled and then gave a big yawn.

"Someone is tired." Olivia took the baby to his crib. Olivia watched the baby drift off and kissed his sweet little face.

"So do you want to know anything?" Olivia asked as she returned to the bed area.

"Ummmm....Can you say what my dad is like?"  Lacey tilted her head and picked slightly at her nails.

"He is a brave man, and is very caring man towards his family.  This is what he looks like."  Giving Lacey a picture of her father.  Lacey just looked a touched the photo gently.

"Wow, you're right I do look like him.  Do you love my father?"  She asked while nervously biting her lip.

"Yes......and no.  I love him that he gave me you, but I don't think I'll ever date him."  Olivia explained.

"Oh....I started reading the journal of letters."  Lacey held up the journal.  "I love it, I always wanted to know what happened before I was born.   What were you worried about."  Lacey smiled.  "Thank you for this."

"I have another thing for you actually."  Olivia reached into her purse pulling out a baby braclet that a baby gets at the hospital.  "This was the first one you got."  The braclet read Baby Girl Benson and other information about the baby.  "They made a mistake to write my name, and remembered so they gave me it to remember something about my child.  Olivia handed the braclet to Lacey.

"I actually have something for you as well."  Lacey got up to her suitcase and brought out a photo album.  "This is for you, my adoptive parents made it for my biological parents.  It is photos of every milestone and memory that I had."  Olivia took the album and brought it to her chest.

"Thank you."  Olivia smiled looking at the photos seeing a picture of baby Lacey stuffing a piece of cake into her face.  She saw the first page, it was a photo of her parents taking her home from the hospital.  "I think your parents would like these."  Olivia gave copies of ultrasounds that she had gotten while she was pregnant with Lacey.

"Wow, they would love this."  Lacey smiled.  "That's me."  She looked at the photos.  "My parents wished to have picture of my ultrasound. "  Lacey explain.

"I would like to meet your parents."  Olivia stated.

"They would like to meet you as well.  They always said when I got older they wanted to meet the lady who gave birth to me"  Lacey smiled weakly hoping that the meeting would go well.  "Can you tell me about before I was born...I know you wrote about it, but I think I would like to hear it from you."  Lacey smiled.

"I still remember the day you were conceived and the day you were born and every day in between." Olivia spoke up.  She started to think about the days that created her daughter's life.
