Walking aimlessly around in one of the rooms inside your boundary all alone by yourself, you contently humming the tune of song ' Senbonzakura '; liking the meaning of lyrics even more— when the corner of your eyes caught a glimpse of your notebook that you've been currently working on.

Smiling to yourself, heels spun to the direction of the [ color ] colored book to have it in your grasp.

Opening the hardcover of the book, flipping a few sheets that were filled with neat black colored handwriting and slight smudge due to the ink. Movements of your hand went halted when your gaze settled on a certain page, a shaky sigh exhaled through your nose while recalling where the life of yours started.

You could say, you were pleased with it.

Tsubasa [Y/N].

A girl that was born in the year of the Taisho period of 1920 with a young little brother by one year, a father who is a police officer and a mother who worked as a geisha.

The only daughter of Tsubasa family could only play stringed traditional Japanese musical instruments way too fluently was recognized by teachers and citizens. Despite all the attention that she had, she fell in love with the art of ukiyo-e instead.

She's much more interested in the landscape one.

How mesmerizing the portraits of The Great Wave off Kanagawa and The Naruto Whirlpools in Away Province once her eyes landed on them. Not to mention, other artworks by both Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige are tremendously significant.

❝ Just one more day. ❞

She told herself. One more day until she could voice out her desire to become a Japanese artist and stop being a musician. Deciding to pour out her soul to her art once she has a paintbrush in her hands.

❝ After this. ❞

After the performance the day after the Obon festival with the main venue was the auditorium of her schoolhouse held, where she would be playing Koto in front of thousands of audience.

❝ It's okay. ❞

She won't be suffering the anxiety when you're at the front of silent crowds. Being judged by the artworks instead? Not bad. Better than being judged right in front of her damn face. Watching them spewing nothing but lies or some criticisms. Barely of them are genuine aside from her relatives.

They were envious.

This is the last time. ❞

Indeed it was her last time. Not only playing the instruments nor appreciating the masterpieces of ukiyo-e from her idols. It was the last time of everything that she could do as a human. No one will recognize her talents anymore. But surprisingly that makes her sad.

Oh, well. If only it didn't happen, she could've changed her fate too far much better.

If she didn't encounter them.
