It's Life

It was okay to live the life
She never thought she'd have
Things have changed
But she was getting used to the thoughts
The cottage left behind
Once she called home
A little courage was all she needed
To start that journey alone
The memories would come back
No matter how much you push it aside
A father who tried too hard
To be good
A mother
Who never came out of her hood
The partners in crimes
Were long lost souls
Forgotten with time
But still held strong control
It wasn't that she couldn't forget
The memories were buried deep inside
But came up once in a while
They were not happy
Or painful
Just numbing thoughts
Who would keep her still
For hours a handful
The lovers
Oh so many
Each taught her
To love with all the joy and the pain
But now
She looked for the epic love
But it was just a old tale
She fell in love with herself
Not caring for the broken hearts plenty
Just her own company
And few eyes locked
And smile exchanged for a while
Things happened for a reason
She strongly believed
It was life
That was the bottom line
Happens to everyone
Each on their own time
