"Gotten an email yet?" Jamie asked looking at his half awake sister.
"I haven't checked." She grumbled shoving her red bangs out of her face with a huff. "Besides I doubt I won. They'll probably choose one of the girls whose parents like bribed them."
"No they won't. Listen, the contest was to write about why you love 5SOS and how much you love them. I haven't ever seen anybody with more reason to skype them than you." He said tossing a granola bar at the blob of red and blue hair. It ended up hitting Star on the forehead and she simply growled and picked it up.
"Ima go check now." With that she dragged herself out of the room and over to the laptop, which she faced with a smile. "Ah my baby!" She cuddled it and baby talked it for a minute or so before actually checking the email. "Junk, junk, one from Raven, and OH THEY SENT A REPLY!" Her voice reached an unbelievably loud tone as she checked it. As she read over the few words in the email her jaw dropped and her bright blue eyes grew wide in disbelief and joy.
'You are our lucky winner.'
"No way." She breathed, barely comprehending what she was reading.
"Did you-" A loud squeal emitted from Stars' mouth, cutting her brother off.
"I ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING!" Cheers and hollers filled the house as her brother read the details that came in a different email.
"You head to the radio station at 3 in the afternoon tomorrow." He got up and approached his sister, kissing her on the head. "I'm proud of you."
Star's POV
My mind is filled with so many thoughts, but the only one that's actually understandable is 'Holy fuck.'
I have such a way with words right?
But really, I can't believe that I'm going to meet the people who have started to coax me into healing. They're the only reason I'm a week clean. It's not much, but it's a start. There's no light at the end of the tunnel if you don't start moving.
