They all busted out laughing when they heard me. "Hullo!" They all said.
"H-h-hi." My voice was nearly silent but I think they could hear me because Luke sent me a small smile.
"So you go by Star right?" Michael asked,
Alright, just remember what Haley said. Breathe. "Yeah, and you're Frankward the second right?" Jokes weren't really my thing and I blushed furiously after I said it. My eyes were shut tightly as I apologized furiously, "Sorry, that was a-a bad j-" I was cut off by laughter. Slowly I pried my eyes open only to see Ashton pointing at Michael and laughing.
"That was great! High five!" He cheered holding a hand up. My eyes widened in confusion as I tilted my head to the side. I racked my memory for what a high five was only to find I hadn't the foggiest idea of what it was.
"What's a high five?" I asked thinking out loud. Their jaws dropped and I heard Haley gasp. "Sorry?"
"You don't know what a high five is?!" Ashton asked in despair.
"It's like a friendly hand slap." Calum explained.
"Surely you've done it with your friends right?" Luke asked.
"U-uh f-friends aren't my f-forte." MY gaze turned to my hands as my face flushed red. 'Great, now they'll think you're some kind of anti-social freak who can't make any friends.'
"Well I don't see why anybody wouldn't want to be your friend." Michael spoke up.
I looked up at him in confusion, "I can barely speak, and when I do it's quieter than a mouse. I'm stuck in a town full of pricks who don't understand music or individuality. Everybody's either a jock, or a slut with their boobs hanging out. I wonder why I don't have any friends." My voice was shaky but I laced it with sarcasm in an attempt to cover up that I felt like I was going to cry.
"Well then let's change that." Ashton spoke with a grin. "Let us be some of your first friends, since it seems you've already befriended Haley."
"R-really?! You'd want to be friends with me? But I'm just a normal fan. There are so many prettier and cooler fans than me."
"Yeah, but we like you. You're one of the few with awesome hair and that doesn't wear a shirt with us on it." Ashton said. "Now how about that high five?" He held up his hand again. I spun my chair around and hesitantly slapped his hand lightly. He nodded his head with a smile, so I assumed I had done it right.
"So, as you're new best friends, we would like to take you out for lunch." Calum said as the boys all looked at me eagerly.
I turned to Haley and she smiled, nudging my shoulder. My body twisted back around to face the boys and I grinned. Although my heart was twisting every which way I was ecstatic at the offer to spend more time with them. Oh wait, that's something you don't have.
"Um s-sure! I'd love that, but I thought I'd only get an hour with you guys, it's already been half an hour."
"That may have been a small lie. You see, we got to read your letter that you wrote." Luke spoke giving me a knowing look. My body tensed up. I'd written about everything in that letter. How much I loved them, how I was so proud of them, and how they were starting to help me quit cutting. Too bad I've gone back on that part.
Well fuck, if they read it then they know.
"And we thought a fan as dedicated and loving as you deserved to get more than an hour." Calum added.
"So we talked to our manager."
"Who called your brother."
All of them wore cheshire grins as they gestured to the window to my right. I looked over and gasped standing up.
