Time for a job

You'll be spending a couple of hours with the med-jacks today, I'll leave you in the hands of Clint and Jeff.
Alby walked me over to where they kept the injured gladers and he introduced me to jeff and clint.
"Meet greenbean she's going to be under your watch today" alby spoke
"Hi" they spoke
"Hey" I replied
Alby left leaving me clint and jeff all alone. "So what do I have to do" I spoke up

"Well it's simple a glader comes in with an injury and we fix it" jeff spoke.
"A lot of builders come in from hitting their thumb with a hammer or slicers will come in with a cut finger but other than that its quiet around here." Clint added.
"Its been very quiet today I guess we can go through basics like how to apply a bandage" jeff spoke
So that's what I did for the past half an hour I was applying bandages and learning how to stitch up skin and care for broken bones..yeah I know pretty.

I did start to notice that one glader came in from hitting his thumb with a hammer and and couple minutes later another came in and then there was two boys that "bumped heads" and there was a slicer that cut his finger and it wasn't even deep. I soon realized they faked their injuries just so they could get the attention from me.
I told jeff about my theory and he agreed he'd never had so many gladers at once, word really spreads quick when you're a female helping sick patients in a glade full of boys.

After a couple of hours of doing medical work I had my lunch break so I went over to frypan's I knew how to get there now the glade isn't really confusing now, it was simple to find your way around. "Heard you were busy today greenie" fry spoke
"Yeah as soon as a bunch of boys hear a woman it taking care of people's injuries they all get injured like what a coincidence" I replied
"Maybe a med-Jack isn't your job maybe you could come help me out" fry spoke
"Sounds good" I replied
I took my food and went over to the table newt and chuck were sitting on.

"Hey guys" I spoke
"Hi" chuck replied
"Alright greenie,how's first day going" newt replied
"Not how I thought it would go really"
"Oh yeah why's that?" Newt questioned
"Oh you know.....boys" I said with a pause
"What these shanks been up to" newt said in a wary tone
"Well...fake injuries may have happened just so they could come and see me" I spoke innocently
"If I could I would kick these shanks up the butt" newt said in annoyance
"We'll discuss this issue with alby at the gathering" newt added
"Gathering for what" I asked
"What job you officially get" newt answered
"Well better get back to work I believe you're working in the gardens now greenie I'll take you over there" newt spoke
I said goodbye to chuck and newt took me over to the gardens.

Gardening was boring I picked weeds and planted a few things I was asked to go get some fertiliser so I went into the forest area of the glade. When I entered the forest I noticed it was too quiet no sound at all, where are the birds shouldn't there be some sort of life in a forest.
I was digging up the ground when I heard a twig snap I looked over to where the sound came from but nothing was there I decided I would carry on and ignore the source of the sound.
SNAP the sound appeared again but louder, I was starting to get worried now there is no form of life in this forest so what in the hell could it have been.
I slowly raised off the ground and went towards the direction of the sound.
Just then a figure jumped out at me from behind a tree and shouted the word "BOO" It all happened so quick the next thing I knew I was on the floor.

Newt started laughing "you should have seen your face you looked petrified" he spoke between laughs
"Haha very funny" I spoke in annoyance I then picked up a few pebbles of the ground and started hitting newt with them (in a playful way)
"Ow ok I'm sorry ow stop please" he pleaded
I stopped and I could see he was coming close to me with an smirk it looked like he had an evil plan in his head.
"Now I don't think that's how you should treat second in command" he spoke
Newt was in second command?how did I not know this sooner.
"What you going to do about" I questioned not really sure if I wanted to know the answer
"Give you your punishment" he walked over to me and said "are you ticklish"
"Newt no don't even think about it" I spoke

He came closer so I made a run of it with newt close behind me.
And of course I tripped which gave newt the advantage of grabbing my waist and ticking me.
I started laughing uncontrollably and I rolled on my side on the floor, newt started laughing with me and I managed to pull him to the floor as well as I started to now tickle him.
He sounded like a two year old and he struggled to breath because he was laughing too much.

We were taken from our childish state when zart came up behind us.
"Sorry to interrupt your playdate but I asked for fertiliser" he spoke
I could feel heat spread across my face as I realized we must look strange laying on the floor with one another. I hope he didn't think...erm kissing or something was taking place oh no I felt really embarrassed now.
"Erm sorry I kinda left the fertiliser back there" I pointed further into the forest. Zart walked off into the forest and me and newt turned to each other and smiled
"Will I get I'm trouble for that" I asked worried
"I wouldn't stress" newt replied
