Before we start: A DISCLAIMER:
1) Leo and calypso never happened, okay? I just find it weird that calypso is like 3000 years old and Leo is 16ish2) they're all gonna be seniors, yes, even hazel. Hazel and Frank are the same age, because what senior would be dating a freshman? Only one who turns out to be a creepy pedo that keeps hanging out around the school as a full adult in the future.
AnnabethNo matter how nervous she was, Annabeth promised herself that she would not judo-flip Percy. Or anyone... no matter how much she wanted to. Even Leo— she would not judo-flip Leo.
Today was the first day of new school— Percy's school. She and the others had been planning this with Chiron for a month. Of course, they had taken the day off to travel to the city and prepare their new home. They would be going to school tomorrow, much to her dismay.
Annabeth had her bags packed, and was sitting in the back of the delivery van, waiting for the others to arrive. Eventually, one by one, her friends piled into the vans— Thalia was driving the other van full of luggage, along with Piper and Jason.
Annabeth let out a sigh. Soon, she would be reunited with Percy. Her seaweed brain. Gods, how she missed him.
When Percy left for New York, Annabeth found it difficult to sleep. Knowing that Percy wasn't in his regular cabin, that she couldn't go and visit him when she had nightmares— it was unbearable. She had dark circles under her eyes, her face was sunken in. She hadn't felt this bad since— well, since she and Percy had gotten back from Tartarus.
Annabeth could remember those times on the Argo II well, well— as well enough as she could. She slept a lot when they got back, but those few hours during the day when she was awake, she was exhausted. At least Percy had been in the cabin next door— or sometimes in her bed, whenever she needed him.
Argus started the van up, which snapped Annabeth out of her daze. The rest of the campers had finally piled in, and they were on the way to their new abode. Annabeth had no clue how the living situation was going to work, which bothered her a lot. Were they going to have roommates? Were they living in an apartment building or a house? How far away were they from the school? Alas, all she knew was that the gods had granted Chiron's request, and gave them somewhere to live that had magical borders so they wouldn't be attacked by monsters. They didn't even let her design the house— they let her design the new Olympus— but not a magical house for a bunch of teenagers? What was up with that?
As the van travelled on, all the campers around her started talking in small groups. Annabeth was seated between Clarisse and the window, which she didn't mind. Annabeth had a massive respect for Clarisse— after all that they had been through together— the labyrinth, the wars— they had actually become close friends. It also helped that Clarisse could read Annabeth like a book— she knew when Annabeth was too deep in thought to hold a conversation, but she also knew when she needed to talk to someone.
