- Him -

*April 2, present year*

I shake my head off, annoyed, as I tried to smile for the cameras while shrugging off these blasted confetti from my head. I hear the woman beside me laugh as she moved some which got stuck in between my glasses.

My wife.

I smile as I remember how it was earlier. We've been planning it for months now, and I can see her stressed out and on the verge of a breakdown. Sometimes I'd hold her to calm her. Most of the time I stay away so she can do her thing. She wanted it to be perfect.

I thought she was enough.

I stole another kiss as the crowd went wild and the cameras kept on flashing. I look down and see her beautiful face smiling up on mine. Finally.

I look to the crowd and for the first time noticed the faces of my family and friends.

I almost missed that face I saw earlier, the face that has haunted my thoughts several weeks ago.

The face I had wanted to stay with me until the end.

Her.

I was taking some badly needed quiet time when I felt a nearby presence. I glanced to my right and saw the person who saved me in my darkest time.

Her. My anchor. My life vest. My sail.

Just as I remember. Hair down. Lips parted in a soft O. Eyes, bright and strong, sucking me in.

I didn't realize I've been staring until I hear my sister shout my name. She seemed to hear it, too, as she tilted her head - the way I remember it - and gave me the smile I know.

And I was thrown back to all those afternoons we spent together.

Surrounded by many, but she's all I see.
