The scars

They were ugly
They lowered my self esteem
They made me want
To hide myself
From people,friends,kids
The scars.

They reminded me of my past
A life that I didn't want to remember

They made me shed tears
They made me feel unloved
The scars

They made me be isolated😪
They made kids run away
From me
They made people walk
Away from me
The scars

But then
One day everything changed
This one guy made me
Feel special
Feel loved
Feel like a warrior
Feel strong

Because he said
Those scars
Show how much of a
Survivor I am
Those scars showed
How strong I am
Those scars represent
The strongest person ever

Those scars
Tell a story on which I should
Be proud of
And thats what I am now
Because of the scars.
