You know how when a person drinks too much, they can get a hangover in the morning?
Yeah, Dream did not drink a single drop of alcohol- he wasn't 21- and yet when he woke up the extreme regret of last nights occurrences gave him a headache. Who knew curiosity really killed the dream?
Perhaps it was a very dumb decision to watch George's live stream, but in his defense, he really believed George wouldn't say it. This was George for crying out loud! He doesn't say anything incriminating publicly, at least not intentionally.
If Dream knew he wouldn't get sleep that night, he would've headed out, got into bed, and slept wonderfully. But no, hearing those stupid words that made his heart go crazy. Now he would have to wake up with a beating heart and the 23 messages from his phone.
Wait, what?
He peered at his phone, and was not the least bit surprised to see his friends commenting about that livestream. They had asked if he was aware of George's profession of love. He was. He was painfully aware that love profession was obviously part of the running gag that he and George were apart of. It was fake, but fuck, did he want it to be real.
It was easy to deny his stupid crush on George. It was easy to act as if it was a joke- if he was openly "crushing" on George, no one would think he meant it.
But boy, did he ever.
He continued to scroll through the messages, some from friends, and most from his group chats he forgot to mute. His heart skipped a beat when he saw George's name from Snapchat.
Quietly, Dream clicked his phone off, rolled to the other side of bed, and tried to fall asleep again. If he could sleep away his problems, he was going to do it for a few more hours. 7 A.M. was too early to be thinking about George.
Hours passed, and Dream knew he couldn't sleep forever. He had come to the consensus that if he put off responding to George, he would think something was up. He swiped on George's notification, but was thoroughly relieved to see no mention of last night.
In fact, it was simply a continuation of their snap conversation before everything happened. Dream didn't know whether to be happy or disappointed.
Actually, he was feeling kind of pissed.
George was such a scammer. In all the years he's known him, George was a shameless and unapologetic scammer. It was stupid really, but Dream liked his company, regardless of the scamming and screaming he did.
It wasn't easy to hear George say those words. He thought he could take it, and play it off- he was oh so wrong.
Granted, it was just easier to tell himself the "I love you" was just an apology for the previous scamming. There were no romantic intentions behind it, because really, the chances that GeorgeNotFound would like Dream was none to zero.
But fuck it. He was going to take that chance.
He sent another message to George.
Are you online?
