(Also I'm sorry for the inaccuracies of Dream and George's life and relationships cause tbh I'm sorta pulling this info out of my ass)

~*~*~*~*~*~

Dream was about 10 seconds away from having a meltdown, and he didn't even know why.

Obviously, Dream had mastered the art of "flirting with your best friend to avoid him finding out that you're actually madly in love with him." It was an art that took a while to master, considering the fact that he was always talking to George.

But to be honest, he couldn't remember his life before George had appeared. He was kinda upset he didn't know George that well during his teen years, with his squeaky voice and even higher pitched screams, but it was probably for the best- George would've bro-zoned him even harder if they had known each other earlier.

Dream fidgeted with his hands. George probably thought it was a joke anyways-

His thoughts were cut off when he heard a soft ping from his phone. It was Sapnap. Dream appreciated Sapnap's friendship over the years, but there was a tiny part of him that wished he didn't confide in Sapnap with his newfound feelings for George. After all, he knew Sapnap was trying to play wingman for him. It didn't take a genius to know that Sapnap was behind George's texts to his mom saying he was his boyfriend. Regardless, Sapnap was doing his best and it was all Dream could ask for. He checked the messages Sapnap sent.

u did what? Dream I-

Okay look he's not gonna respond lol

But of course, the universe kindly proved him wrong, as Dream's phone would light up with an unknown number- presumably from George.

Okay fuck you
You jinxed me

not my fault ur actually so whipped for George
have fun tho 😘

Dream turned his attention back to the text message. Sapnap was right. He was whipped. He was so whipped he was actually scared for when George would FaceTime him.

Regardless of his crippling fear, he sent a nonchalant text.

George responded to that text by FaceTiming him.

OH GOD, OH FUCK.

Dream fumbled with his phone for a bit before accepting the call and immediately turning the camera away from his face.

"Hello? Dream?"

"Yeah?" Dream responded. He fidgeted with the strings on his hoodie.

"Oh wow, it is you. Care to turn the camera towards your face or are you too chicken?"

"Me? Chicken? You're chicken for not saying I love you to my face."

"Okay, well,  you didn't even TRY to show me your face I would've said it-"

"You're so stupid George, I literally would've done it if you told me it first."

The awkwardness from the conversation began to fade away, as they begun to bicker. Dream was glad. It felt normal again. He casually turned the camera back to his face.

"But because I still love you, I'll show you my face," Dream said, managing to crack a joke despite his heart beating unnaturally fast.

George stopped mid-sentence of his retort to Dream to stare at him.

"T-that's you?"

"Yeah, don't make this weird."

"I can't not make it weird, this is what you look like? You look like an Adonis!" George exclaimed, trying to make his words sound satirical as possible. He didn't want Dream to find out he really meant what he said.

"You finally googled who Adonis was? You're such a nerd, George."

"Screw off, Clay."

Dream stopped for a minute with wide eyes. He was totally screwed for wanting George to say his name again.

"Dream?"

He shook off that mini crisis to respond. "Wow, George, I can't believe this rudeness. After all the nights I kissed you goodnight?" He woefully cried.

"Dream, stop." George seemed distracted, but Dream didn't notice the reason he was so distracted was because he was still looking at his face.

"Alright, alright. I'll let you go to sleep. And no screenshots. I know you think I'm super hot but don't do it."

"Oh my god Dream, I'm not gonna screenshot, and I do not think you're hot."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." Dream winked, blowing a kiss at him.

"I really wish I had a blender right about now," George deadpanned.

"You wouldn't blend my love, Georgie," He cackled in response.

George rolled his eyes before ending the call.

After that, Dream really couldn't stop holding in the stupid grin he had on his face.

Because of all the people he could have ever fallen in love with, he was glad it was George.
