The group entered a quaint little house that smelled of scented candles. A little too strong, making the two humans cough after a couple whiffs for oxygen.Camouflaged with the polished wooden walls, Saki pressed against a button revealing an entrance to a room beneath them.
The atmosphere of the room was nothing like anything in the entire village, which seemed free of technology.
It was the cyborg's room filled with all kinds of gadgets, multiple computers, scattered blueprints- and right in front of Metanoia, pinned to a large bulletin, was a sketch of her. Some parts deconstructed along with multiple side notes.
The android furrowed her brows. Uneasy and puzzled. Foreign feelings, or perhaps errors in her program. She does not know.
"I'm not going to take you apart, you know? Just equip you with a little firepower for emergency situations." Saki commented, noticing how Metanoia had her attention glued to the blueprint.
"The guns go brrrr!" Lobelia followed, an attempt to kill the slightly serious atmosphere.
"Guns don't go brr..."
"Shut it John, they do because I said so."
"Ehem." They cyborg girl coughs. "If you two are done bantering, may we proceed? Metanoia, please lay yourself onto that well- table thing." She directed the android to a more well lighted part of the room where stationed was a long metal table and many other trinkets.
Metanoia sighed inaudibly and walked over to the table, getting up onto it and laying down. Gazing at the bright light that hung above her as she wondered what kind of 'firepower' she was about to be equipped with.
Too preoccupied in thought, the android hadn't even noticed what was going on around her, and was soon shut down. Closing her eyes to a long needed rest she hasn't felt in ages.
"Ooi, if you're going to be fixing the thing up, do me a favor and give the thing a voice box or whatever hm?" The human girl suggested, watching as Saki and John were taking apart different sections of Metanoia.
"She has one, and is able to speak. She just chooses not to." Saki responds nonchalantly, making Lobelia growl.
"Fine, brush me off then. Tsk tsk."
For a while, the cyborg and human boy continued working on Metanoia tirelessly, and in silence. The air was heavy and unbearable. It was then John felt the need to ask something that Saki would dodge everytime it was brought up. Anything to kill the dreadful lack of talk.
"Say, Saki. Why don't you answer us when we ask you how you know so much about Metanoia?"
"You know she's not going to answer that, John. Why bother?" Lobelia spouted, clearly pissed at the cutesy cyborg that was not giving her the attention she wanted.
"There are just things I don't want to remember." The said cyborg exhales. "If you guys want to know that bad, then ask Metanoia. Not sure if she knows who I am though."
"I see..." John gave her an empathetic look, while the pissed girl watching them scowled and reverted her gaze to the stairs. "I'm going out for a breather."
"Stay safe."
"It is fucking safe you coward boy."
Saki snickered at the small quarrel the two had. John wasn't the type to respond or raise his middle finger when cussed at, and it would usually make Lobelia more irritated in the process.
Having such an obnoxious and rampant personality wasn't always great to deal with, but the cyborg liked that and all the other qualities in her friend.
In the first place, it was the angered female that made their relationship possible.
