"I'm sorry, my dear." Alastor said softly before walking away.
Charlie hung her head down in shame, tears running down her face.
Angel frowned and walked over to Charlie. "Toots? Charlie?" Angel said softly. "Toots, you okay?" He asked softly.
Charlie stayed quiet and got up, walking away from him and headed to her room while keeping her head down. She dragged her feet to her room before closing the door behind her and locked it.
Angel went after her and frowned when he saw her lock herself in her room. "Come on, babe. Open the door." He said softly.
Charlie rested her head back on the door, tears running down her cheeks non-stop. She slid her back down against the door before hugging her knees tightly, quietly sobbing to herself as she buried her face in her knees. I'm such a fucking idiot! Of course, he doesn't feel the same. She thought to herself.
Angel put his ear against the door and heard her trying hard to keep her sobs quiet. He frowned and decided to just leave her alone before walking away to his room. What the fuck happened back there? He thought to himself.
Fat Nuggets walked up to Angel Dust when he saw him walk into the room.
Angel picked up Fat Nuggets and placed him on his lap once he sat down on the bed. "Why the fuck did he get me involved to do his dirty work and basically serve her on a silver platter for him to just reject her, Fat Nuggets? Why? Just why?" He asked. "What the fuck is that strawberry pimp planning?"
Alastor walked around the hotel, humming to himself with a soft smile on his face. A lamp was flickering a bit in the hallway so he walked over to it and tapped it to see if it was loose, but caused it to flicker more. Alastor tilted his head to the side a bit as he stared at the flickering light bulb that almost seemed like the flashing of a camera.
~Flashback to 1931, New Orleans~
Camera flashes blinded Alastor a bit, but he didn't take his eyes off of the beauty standing right before him. He was speechless to see it was the girl from last night who won his monthly lottery. He couldn't believe how much more beautiful she actually was. Last night she was beautiful, but seeing her more clearly in a better-lit place and fully dressed along with a smile on her face made her look stunning. Her beauty combined with the surprise of seeing her again made him speechless and he couldn't even form a thought.
Daisy giggled. "Are you alright, Mister Alastor?" She asked softly. Her voice was soft and gentle, and she was well-spoken. She also didn't have an accent as everyone else did in town.
"Uhhh...yes! I just...is it really you?" He asked, a wide smile on his face. "The girl from last night?"
"It is. I knew your voice and name sounded familiar when we met but I would've never guessed you were the one and only Alastor." She smiled brightly, revealing her pearly-white teeth. "Pardon my rudeness from last night. I meant to give you my name but I was in a bit of a hurry." She explained.
"No, no. You have nothing to worry about, I completely understand given the circumstances." He smiled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Excuse the interruption, but can we continue?" James asked Alastor.
"Oh, right! Of course." Alastor smiled. "Shall we?" He asked Daisy, holding out his hand for hers.
Daisy smiled and nodded her head before taking his hand and stood in front of the room with him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, meet our lovely winner for this month's lottery. Miss Daisy..." He paused for a moment. "I didn't catch your full, darling." He whispered to Daisy.
