Kara went to school wearing clothes and makeup that Alex chose for her. Alex said there was a party at night so that would explain why she was dressing differently to normally.

Alex picked out a casual blue dress for Kara.

"Why this?" Kara asked, not sure why Alex was choosing this out of everything.

"Because you don't want to seem like you're trying too hard, and blue is your colour." Alex said.

"Okay, I hope this works." Kara said.

Iris noticed Kara walking into school in a dress that wasn't her style. Iris knew that Kara had a crush on Barry, so Iris thought Kara was trying to impress Barry. Too bad Iris was also trying to impress Barry.

Iris was wearing a red short top and skinny jeans. Kara wondered if she had any chance against Iris.

"Hey Kara, I see you're all dressed up for the party. You look great." Barry complimented.

"Thanks, how about you?" Kara asked.

"I don't think I'm going to go to the party. AP chemistry's a real pain in the ass." Barry said.

"Oh come on, you can do your work over the weekend." Kara said.

"I guess." Barry said, realising Kara would just continue arguing if he didn't give in.

"Great!" Kara said happily.

School passed quickly and Kara was approached by many boys asking her out. Kara said no to everybody, thinking 'So now you want to talk to me, when earlier you pretended I didn't exist?'

The only person Kara wanted to go out with was Barry. That was why it hurt like hell when she saw Barry before the party.

As Kara walked into the party she saw Iris kiss Barry. Kara was walking towards the party with a smile on her face when she saw it, and instantly her smile melted away as she turned around to walk away from the party so nobody could see her sadness.

Kara listened in to Barry and Iris' conversation with her super-hearing even though she didn't want to.

"What was that for?" Barry asked, pulling away from Iris with a surprised look on his face.

"Are you complaining?" Iris asked.

"No!" Barry said quickly, "just wondering why you kissed me."

"I'm doing what you have been too scared to do for the last 7 years." Iris said before she kissed Barry again.

Kara watched with her x-ray vision as Barry kissed back, even though she really didn't want to.

Tears began to form in Kara's eyes as she ran back home crying.

Eliza opened the door and was not even greeted by Kara. Instead, Kara just ran straight up to her room and cried.

Kara thought about how stupid she was to think something would ever happen between Barry and her. How long did Barry like Iris? 7 years. How could Kara, an awkward girl stand a chance against her. Kara hated her feelings, why couldn't she just be happy to have an amazing friend like Barry?

"Kara open up!" Eliza shouted from the door. Kara didn't respond. Kara just cried.

"Kara if you do not open this door right now I will kick it down!" Eliza shouted again. Kara didn't respond. Kara just cried.

"Kara it's me, Alex." Alex said, "talk to me Kara, what happened?"

Kara got up and unlocked her bedroom door, not bothering to open it before falling onto her bed to cry again.

"Kara what happened." Alex asked with worry written all over her face.

"Nothing. Just go back to the party." Kara replied.

"Kara I will stay here and bother you until you tell me what happened." Alex said.

"I don't want to talk about it!" Kara shouted, before realising Alex just wanted to help and apologising. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay Kara, just tell me what happened." Alex said.

"Iris kissed Barry and Barry kissed her back." Kara cried.

"So what? If Barry doesn't like you then he's stupid." Alex said, making Kara angry.

"No! Barry is not stupid. He is the only person genuinely nice to me except for you and Eliza. He doesn't care about how I look, he treated me the same when I wore my normal clothes and when I wore the outfit you picked out for me unlike literally every other guy in school that asked me out. So he is anything but stupid. He is the nicest person on Earth and he loves Iris, not me!" Kara shouted.

"Oh. But he's missing out on the amazing girl I see in front of me." Alex said.

"No. He is now going to start dating Iris, and he will spend less time with me. I'm going to be alone again. I'll lose my only friend here." Kara said sadly.

"Maybe he will, but what will you do about it? Are you going to move on, or are you going to stay hung up on Barry forever?" Alex asked.

"I'll -" Kara began before she was interrupted by Alex.

"That was a rhetorical question, don't answer it. Think about it." Alex said before she walked out of the room, where Elisa was standing.

"I don't know why Kara is so sad. She just met Barry a few weeks ago and had a crush on him. Why is she crying so much?" Alex asked.

"I don't think she just had a crush on him. I think that somehow within the few weeks they have known each other, Kara fell in love with Barry." Eliza said.

"Oh god. At least there are only 2 more weeks of school before we all go to college. It's going to hurt to see Barty and Iris together for Kara if she really is in love with Barry." Alex said, feeling sorry for her sister.

"Yeah. Who is Iris?" Eliza asked.

"She is Barry's adoptive sister who Barry has had a crush on since he was 10. She's also my best friend." Alex said.

"Adoptive?" Eliza questioned.

"Yeah, you didn't know? Barry's mom was murdered by his dad. I don't know how he manages to be so cheerful all the time. It amazes me, just like how Kara can stay happy all the time." Alex said.

"I think that's why Kara gets along with him so well. He understands her more than anyone here. Maybe they were made for each other in another universe." Eliza said.
