(TRIGGER WARNING ON THIS CHAPTER)
"Well good morning first of all" Mr Brighton said to Harry giving him a faint smile as he walked in. I got a glimpse of his black worn out converse and skinny jeans as he stood besides me. I instantly looked away feeling uncomfortable. Harry politely said good morning as he sat himself down next to the empty chair next to me. I popped my head down starring at my lap remaining silent throughout.
"Well I called you in here as Lily's behaviour has been very unacceptable this morning" Mr Brighton said whilst clearing his throat. I rolled my eyes as I could see Harry in the corner of my eye glaring at me.
"It was self defence" I said through my teeth tired of getting blamed for everything. Harry gave me a warning look and nudged me with his elbow, I sighted loudly and sunk down into the rather comfy seat.
"And what exactly did she do?" Harry asked, confusion and dread clear in his voice. I just shut my eyes preparing myself to be portrayed as this horrible student.
"Well Lily got in a fight with another student this morning. She punched the girl in the face giving her a bloody nose. As you know we do not accept any sort of violence in these school grounds. We're deeply ashamed and we urge Lily to apologise to Lauren as soon as" Mr Brighton said looking at me with a disappointed look.
I watched as Harry's mouth slightly dropped in shock as he took a deep breath trying to make sense of that he heard. I could tell he was incredibly dissapointed in me.
"Oh I'm very sorry, she never behaves like this" Harry said sounding very ashamed of me. I just slightly shook my head closing my eyes trying to stop the wall of tears from rolling down my cheeks. I felt incredibly prejudged and not listened too. Lauren should be in my shoes right now, I should be the one getting comfort and sympathy of people.
"I believe so but unfortunately we do not tolerate such behaviour at this school. I hope you understand that following our protocol we must expel Lily from our school for minimum of 3 days to ensure things like that don't happen again. We urge you as her guardians to have a stern talk with her at home too" I hear my headteacher say sternly to Harry. I just inaudibly sigh in my seat.
"Is Lauren going to get expelled too?" I ask abruptly. She fought me too.
"Well we are going to talk to Lauren too at some point today to get her side of the story" he says making me irate. To get her side of the story?
"Well I told you my side of the story so why am I not being listened too?" I say sternly towards my head teacher. I felt like I was being treated very unfairly in this situation.
"Lily, you should just apologise for you actions and we can get you home" I hear Harry say to me. I scoff to myself, even Harry didn't believe me.
"Lily we will talk to Lauren too. But you have to understand she's the one injured whilst you don't have any injuries on yourself. We have to go by evidence here and not by student claims. We expect sincere apologies from you regardless" Mr Brighton speaks up as I stay sat shocked in my seat. The double standards in this school are unreal.
"Well it's Great to know the school has a self defence policy at the school to defend innocent students" I mutter sarcastically as I sigh, the school system is just so unfair.
"Right Lily that's enough" Harry says standing up looking directly at me.
"I'm very sorry about Lily's behaviour, just rest assured nothing like this will ever happen again" Harry says very apologetically whilst tapping me on the shoulder telling me to come on.
I saw Harry mouth to me apologise now. I rolled my eyes knowing I had no choice.
"I'm sorry" I say as I turn around and walk away as fast as I can. I hoped Harry's long legs won't catch up to me.
