A/N: Comment as you read, yeah? It would make for a wonderful holiday gift for me. xD
CAMI:
I was staring at Harry with wide eyes. “What am I doing here?”
He was sitting in an armchair, a couple of letters spread out on his lap. A ray of sunlight shone through his window, illuminating a section of his hair. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up straight and looked disorientated around. When his eyes fell on me, he smiled.
“Morning, sunshine,” he said. “You fell asleep yesterday, and I didn’t have it in me to wake you up.”
I sat up on the couch, trying to remember what had happened last night. I vaguely remembered kissing Harry in the middle of the night, but it could have been a dream, right? He was sitting so far away, if anything had happened, I wouldn’t have been alone on the couch.
At least, I didn’t think I would.
Harry was still watching me, his green eyes studying me. I squirmed lightly. How long would he do that for?
Widening my eyes, I remembered my actual life. “Crap, what time is it?” I asked. “I have to get to class.”
Grabbing my phone, I checked only to see that it was far too late for me to get there in time. The teacher didn’t like being interrupted, and even if I hurried, I wouldn’t be able to just saunter in there without being reprimanded. And I was not in the mood for a lecture of any kind right now.
“Do you want me to drive you?” Harry asked.
I looked up and shook my head. “There’s no point now; I’m not going to make it anyway.”
“I can still drive you back to Gillian’s,” he said. “Unless…”
“Unless what?” I asked.
“Unless you want to skip class and hang out with me today.” He grinned.
I thought about it. I was ahead in class, but skipping school had always seemed like such a rebellious thing to do. Every time I’d tried it before, I’d always been caught shortly after.
Sure, at college, the classes weren’t mandatory, but it would still be on the final test at the end of the year. I looked up and met Harry’s eyes.
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea,” I muttered. “Classes and all.”
“Don’t worry,” he said. “I understand. I’ll drive you back in a moment. Just… Let me get changed first. I slept in these clothes.” He scratched his head and rose from the chair, walking towards the room I assumed was his.
Alone in his living room, I glanced around the place. I had to admit, the apartment wasn’t what I had expected at all. Of course, the chances that Harry had decorated it himself were slim. But I still had a more bachelor pad in mind.
It reminded me how much I didn’t know him at all.
My phone vibrated in my hand, and I looked down to see it was a number I didn’t recognize. Frowning, I picked up.
“Hello?” I said.
“You’re talking with Suzy Callahan, Mr. Larsson’s assistant. I’m calling to confirm your tickets for tonight.”
“What tickets?” I didn’t understand what she was talking about.
“The tickets for tonight’s galla premiere. I was told you’d been briefed about this,” she said. “From your surprise, I can deduce that’s not the case, though.”
I sighed. “Can you please hold for a moment?” I didn’t give her the time to reply before I’d paused the call and went straight to my voicemail. Five new messages, all from Ludmilla. Listening through them, I did my best to keep calm until I finally went back to Lucy.
“I’ll be there,” I said, through gritted teeth before I hang up on her. It wasn’t the assistant’s fault, though. I shouldn’t take it out on her at all.
“So,” Harry said as he walked out of his room, now in clothes that didn’t look like he slept in them. “You ready to go?”
I played with my phone throwing it from hand to hand. “Actually,” I said. “I’ve changed my mind.”
“You did?” He sounded surprised. “What happened?”
“Well,” I said with a shrug. “I have to go to this galla-premier tonight. Mr. Larsson wants you to go with me, but you don’t have to, though. I would, however, appreciate it if you could drive me to the nearest dress shop.” I frowned. “I have no formal wear.”
“Oh,” he said. “Alright then, let’s get going then.”
“You’re giving me a ride?” I smiled up at him.
“No,” he said.
I looked down, disappointed. “Ah, okay.”
“I’m going to go with you to find a dress.” When I looked up to meet his eyes, he winked and continued, “We might as well make sure we match this time.”
I was reminded of this summer where Harry had tried to make us match at a dinner party. However, at that time, our co-star Diana, had appeared with an explanation as to why she matched with Harry. Back then, I’d been annoyed at her, and even a bit jealous, but now Diana was someone I considered a friend.
“You really want to come with me dress shopping?” I asked. “It’ll be extremely boring.”
“Are you kidding me? You posing in different clothes for me?” He laughed. “That’s my favorite kind of pastime.”
Heat flared to my cheeks, and I rose from the couch. Walking over, I stopped right in front of him and stood on my toes, giving him a small kiss on the cheek.
“Thank, you,” I said. “For everything.”
