A/N: This will be so very short. Sorry. But hey, at least it something, right? Plus, the end of chapter 8. xD. Anyway, if you're still with me, you know the drill here. Comment as you read, please. It'll help me get back in the groove.
CAMI:
I woke up to sound of hushed voices. Confused, I realized that I was in Harry’s bedroom, and the sounds were coming from the living room—in full surround sound.
Rubbing my eyes, I rose from the bed and tried to collect my thoughts. At first, I gathered it had to be Zayn, but Harry said he was with Terry. Besides, as I glanced at the digital alarm clock, I couldn’t come up with one good reason why he’d be watching TV in the living room at midnight. He had a flat screen in his own room.
That meant Harry had to have come back early. Filled with joy, I almost ran out of the door, leaped into the hallway and prepared to tackle my boyfriend. However, as I slid across the wooden floor and came into view of the couch, something didn’t add up.
I could see the curls, no doubt. However, they were way too short and in an odd color. Gasping, I realized that I had no idea who this man were. He jerked around and gave out the girliest scream I’ve ever heard.
“Jesus,” I screamed, trying to drown his shrill voice out while covering my ears.
“Who are you? Please don’t kill me!” he shouted and cowered away from me on the opposite side of the couch.
“Why would I kill you?” I screamed back, unable to make any sense of what was happening.
“I don’t know! Just, don’t.”
As he lowered his voice, I exhaled and finally had an appropriate reaction. “Who are you? How did you get in here?”
“I used my key,” he said and nodded to the table. “My brother lives here.”
Frowning, I tried to shake my brain into piecing this together. “Your brot—Are you Edward?” I widened my eyes and took an involuntary step back.
The guy wasn’t offended, though. He merely chuckled. “I see you’ve heard about me. Old Harry tends to exaggerate how bad I was. In his defense, we haven’t spoken in almost five years.”
“What are you doing here?” I asked. As I surveyed him carefully, I tried to picture him as this clinically insane guy, watching for any sudden movements. However, the more I looked, the more he seemed to have calmed down completely.
Actually, he probably looked like the sanest person in the room.
“I came to see my brother.” He shrugged. “He bought this condo before I was locked up, so I knew where it was and she had the key. Plus, my sister said he was currently living here. I thought he might be here. Didn’t exactly expect you, though.”
“Oh,” I said. “Well. Harry’s in England to see you, actually.”
“Really?” He groaned. “Just my luck.”
Unsure of what to say, I scratched my head. I had a severe case of bed hair. Clearing my throat, I crossed my arms. “Well. I guess I’ll better get home anyway. Kinda feel asleep in there after a long day.”
“Oh no,” Edward said, holding up his hands. “Please don’t go because of me. I can easily go to a hotel if I make you uncomfortable.”
“I don’t actually live here, so I think I should just go…” I gave him a nervous laugh.
The more I looked at him, the more I could see how he resembled Harry. It wasn’t just the curls, but something about his eyes too. It made me realize how much I really missed my boyfriend.
