"Have a nice day at school!" she said to him as she dropped him off. Gossip was already buzzing around that he was an Amberjack. He grew a fan club and also grew an envy club. "Nicholas looks like a prince." "His blue eyes make him look ecstatic." The girls fawned as he made his way inside. He wasn't used to all this attention and it made him uneasy. Steve and his gang watched him from one end of the compound as Rebecca lurked from the inside she flashed back to last night dinner where she spoke to her brother, Mariel. "I'm saying, a boy around my age, with blue eyes was transferred into my class today. He said his name was Amberjack." "Don't joke, the boss hasn't said anything about an Amberjack relative being transferred to your school, but knowing that she's back ... I can see it." He massaged his temples as he sat on the chair. "Listen, it's secret that our family, the Claus family serves the Valentia family which does the bidding of the Amberjack family. So Rebecca, if you truly wish to become a hit-man like father, mother, myself and your siblings, keep an eye on this boy." "I understand brother, I'll watch him." She said as she ascended the stairs to class. "When dividing numbers, ask yourself how many times can the smaller one go into the bigger one, for example, how many times can 10 go into 40? The answer 4." The teacher spoke to them during their math class but Nicky couldn't focus at all. "Your order of 1 black coffee and 1 ice cream sundae." The waitress said as she placed it on the table. "Enjoy." She said as she left. Sabina took the sundae and began eating happily as the upset Mariel stared at her. "What's wrong?" "DON'T GIVE ME THAT!" he raised his voice which caused the other customers and workers to look at him. "Sorry." He said to them and sat back down and stared at her. "I can understand why you're upset." "Can you really? Why didn't you tell me you were sending him to school?" "I don't recall I'm supposed to tell you everything." She helped herself to another spoonful of vanilla ice cream. "You're right, I'm not him." She looked at him sternly. "Why do you always compare yourself to him?" "Before he came, I was always your number 1, but since that day I was number 2. But for me you were always my number 1." "I believe the knuckle head told you to never get attached to your employer." "Won't you stop calling the boss that?" she chuckled. "I'm sorry, let me rephrase that, I believe Marino told you to never get attached to your employer." "I'm not made of metal, and I'm free to be attached to whoever I wished to." "That's true, but speaking of him, why's his men outside?" the outside was fill with men in grey suits standing in a line at the entrance of the café. "Don't tell me, you rat me out." "No, I'm just reporting to the one I work for." He sipped his coffee. "Mariel!" she clutched her hands. The doors opened as the men poured inside. "I'm not sorry." Mariel said to her as he looked away. She clenched her jaws as the footsteps which echoed through the door stopped at their table. "It's been so long." A familiar man's voice spoke. She was trembling. "Y-yeah ..." she tried speaking. All of a sudden she was pounced on by the man. "Why didn't you call me!? I've been so worried! Even Calesie gave me a hard time when you went incognito. Don't get me started on the old man." "I'm sorry ... big brother ... I needed to be alone." "Oh look at you in your rebellious stage." He tapped her on her back as he ordered some drinks. She wasn't trembling of fear; she was actually trembling because she wanted to punch Mariel; for the man sitting next to her hugging her was Marino Valentia. The don of the mafia, the most fearsome man and the deadliest one in Edinburgh who she calls "Big Brother" because he dotes on her. Excessively. "It's been almost eight years. Why all of a sudden you're back outside?" the mood of the café changed. "I'm done hiding." "Lies, you wouldn't take eight years to hide, out with it." He folded his arms. And she took a deep and heavy sighs. "Two months ago I received a letter in the mail, I don't know how the person got my address or who the sender was, but the contents inside." She bit her lips. "was a picture of him." "Are you sure of it." "Yeah, he was in an un-explainable condition and on his left arm the scare which you gave him was visible." "That's impossible! He's dead." Mariel intruded. "But, we never recovered a body from the accident, all we got was just an infant and a severely injured you." Marino said. "Yeah, that's why I moved and stepped back into the light once more. That war with the Spanish should have ended with our deaths, but it continued until today." She spoke. "That's why I had the child stay in the orphanage under the sisters' guidance always the Mexicans." Marino spoke. "And, where's my nephew now?" "He's in the safest place under your jurisdiction, the school." "How many thought did you put into all of this?" Mariel asked as the waitress brought their drinks. "Eight years' worth, because no one sends a death wish at my family and lives to brag about it." She smirked. "Oh? It seems to me like the old you are back." Marino chuckled. "It's about to rain blood." Mariel muttered as they toasted. "Say what now?" "That's what I'm telling you, there's a parent teachers meeting on Friday." Nicky said as he slouched unto the couch. "But it's only been two days." "You tell me, you're the one who transferred me this time into the term." He pouted. "Life is moving too fast." She muttered, "That's what happens when you have kids." Nicky laughed, as Friday morning arrived. They both stood at the entrance, everyone stared. "I'm surprised you actually came." He said to her. "You and me both." "Everyone is staring at you." "Well, I did say first impression matter this morning." She was wearing a white skater dress with a pin on ankle stray high heels. To top it off she wore a bright red lipstick and sun glasses. "Now let's concur this agenda!" she said as she held his hands and marched in unaware of the men lurking.
