"Shh, quiet down." The chatter of eager children filled the hall way of the school. "A transfer student this time of the month? Ridiculous." It was in the middle of February where classes were learning their final materials before spring break. "I hope it's a girl, a cute one." "Nah, it's going to be a boy." "Everyone settle down!" "oh the class president." They all took their seats. "We are the offspring of many rich and elite people, is this how we behave in such manner?" "Should we really be listening to you? Just cuz your brother knows the owner of Empire Palace." "Stop Steve, Rebecca is right, we are all elites." "Tsk, yeah, yeah sure. Just because some of their parents have more money in the bank they can do what they please my bad." The bell rang signalling the start of class. "Everyone good morning." The teacher said as she entered the class. "Good morning miss Valentine." They replied. "I'm sure you've all heard the rumors about the new student. It's true. Enter." She called as the door opened and the boy entered. "He's cute." The girls began to whisper. "Introduce yourself." The teacher touched his shoulder. "G-good morning." That's when Rebecca noticed he had blue eyes. "My name is ... Christopher Nicholas ... Am- Amberjack nice to meet you." Huh? Amberjack? Did the kid say Amberjack? She couldn't believe what she heard as her mouth opened in shock. "hahaha ... hahaha, heard that Becca? He said Amberjack." Steve said to her as he laughed. "This day just became better." "What's going on? Brother didn't tell me that a relative of Amberjack was transferring, what's going on?" she mumbled to herself. As the bell for lunch rang, Nicky was swarmed with children wanting to know more about him. "What's your favorite food?" "What do you do in your free time?" "What school did you go to before?" "You lot, don't surround him, give him space." Rebecca commanded. "Joy kill." They said as they left him. "Thank you." He said to her. "Come with me." He followed her to the library. "You got blue eyes, for an Amberjack you must have foreign blood in you. Are you related to the president of Empire Palace?" She watched him sternly. "What if I am? Why do you act as if you know the Amberjack?" he replied to her. "Oh? You're fierce aren't you?" "What do you want? To bully me? Take my allowance?" "I don't need any of that, just ... if you're really an Amberjack, be careful." "What do you mean?" "The president of Empire is a fearsome person, and rich beyond dreams, there's many who'd want to get their hands on that bloodline." "Why are you telling me this?" "Just a personal gain, nothing more, take care." And she left leaving Nicky with questions, unanswered questions. –Later that evening- "I'm sorry I couldn't pick you up today, you didn't give Mrs. Wilson any trouble did you?" "No, she said I was a good boy." He bragged. "How was school?" she asked Nicky as they sat down for dinner, he was quiet for a little while. "hmm, it was fine until ..." he mumbled. "Until?" "Until someone asked me if I was related to the president of Empire's Palace because we have the same last names, and if I was I need to be careful I don't get kidnapped." He pouted. She was amazed that eight year olds knew such things, got to hand it to rich people she thought. "Don't worry, you won't get kidnap." "How are you so sure?" "Because you're protected, didn't I say as long as I'm here you're free." He watched her in disbelief. That's when he realized he knew nothing about her except her name 'Sabina'. "I can ask you something?" "Shoot." "Why did you gave me such a name that's related to the president of Empire's Palace? And who are you?" Empire Palace was just the name of the franchise. It was a real estate business with over 15 hotels including Hyatt's, with at least 300 houses for sale and rent. Each Hyatt's has casinos, pools, golf course personal lakes and zip lines which draws many foreign customers as well as the perfect place to make back water deals. But the main building and the heart of Empire Palace is called The Duchess and is mostly referred to as "she." And the only one with a statue of Aphrodite at its entrance, The Duchess is the biggest of the Hyatt's she has the biggest casino, and its biggest attraction is her waterfall in the middle of the building, spouting from the roof to its lobby encased in glass. Anybody who's anybody goes there, nobodies leaving as somebodies and security in every nook and cranny. It's really not a simple place to hang out. She sipped her beer. "Because that's your name and mine is Sabina." she replied. "I don't get it; you say I'm protected as long as you're here." "Yes, yes." "you gave me a ridiculously long name that you say is mine." "yes, yes." "yet when others tell me to be careful, you say it's OK." "yes, yes." "It all comes down to one thing, who are you?" she sighed heavily. "You got me." She replied. "If I were to tell you, I was a super-rich as hell woman who has connections in places you don't want to visit, will you believe me?" "Yes, without a second thought." "What? Huh? No don't!" "You're the most suspicious person I've ever met in my eight years of life and you're very pretty." She sighed. "Alright, I'll tell you what you need to know, but on one condition." "what's that?" "if you're ever being chased, run to the ones wearing the grey suits. Can you promise me this?" He was skeptical of the words she spoke and took a minute to take it in. "I promise." They pinky promised. "firstly, yes you're related to the owner of Empire's Palace." His eyes widen. "secondly, Sabina is just my nickname, finally; because you have her blood in you, many of her enemies want to kil-take you, but she also has many important friends who are protecting you secretly. They are the mafia, the men of Marino." "Who's Marino?" "Hmm, you can think of him as your uncle, he's the don of the mafia." "MAFIA!?" "Yes." "Ahahahaha aha hahaha I'm related to a super-rich person and a super deadly person, just what any eight-year-old wants. Ahahahaha hahaha." He lost his mind. She felt regret choke her instantly. He began laughing louder. "Sorry, I broke your son." She began praying. "Oh I forgot!" she slammed her palms down on the table. "What?" "We'll be moving soon." "Huh? To where?" she smiled. "To the capital, Edinburgh."
