"What about Hwa-Young? What happens to her? She's your child. Act like it!"
The tape that had once held my heart together was ripping, peeling from the cracks and chips. The insistent crying continued, only getting louder with the sentence that followed mine.

"It'll stay with you! I don't want it. Too much effort for something you don't love. Just like you."

'Did she just call our- no. MY child 'it'?'

"What did you just call Hwa-Young?.. How can you call yourself a mother?!" When I said that, she had the nerve to laugh. To actually laugh.

"You're so stupid.. I don't love either of you! You had a steady paying job. I needed a place to stay. You gave me money and a place to stay. Here, I'll spell it out for you. I used you! But now that thing is here, your money is going to it and not to me. I have no need for you. Or it. All she does is cry. She literally never stops."

Anger rose up inside me as she continued to libel continuously.

"Stop it! I can't believe you! You used me? I was in LOVE with you! I started a FAMILY with you. We have a DAUGHTER. How could you!?" My knees gave out from under me thudding against the cold, hard floor. Tears ran down my cheeks, as I came to a realization, "I left him for this! I was in love with him!"

She, once again, had the nerve to laugh. "Look at you. Pathetic! How can you call yourself a man? On your knees, Crying. Who would ever love you? You're disgusting. So fucking weak!"

Tears continued to roll down my face as I tried to wipe them away, "Please.. Just- Just leave! Now.. LEAVE!" My voice echoed around the room as she went silent, and the cries died out. The room suddenly burst into sound again.

"FINE! KEEP YOUR FUCKING BABY. I DON'T NEED YOU. OR THAT WHINY BITCH!" The sound of a door slamming echoed throughout the house.

My defeated figure slumped to the ground as the dog barked. "It'll be okay. The three of us against the world, always and forever. Right?" The tape is gone, my heart shattering, exploding into a million pieces - as tears continued to run down my cheeks, dripping onto the softly carpeted floor.

'Right?'
