Wet floor, wet house,
Wet cat, wet mouse.
Wet door and window pane,
All because of the rain.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter,
The raindrops became fatter.
Dark clouds loomed,
And thunder boomed.
The drops fell,
They filled the well.
The people fled,
From the rain, filled with dread.
People watched,
Their vision blotched,
As the drains
Consumed the rain.
The next day they emerged,
Some of their lawns nearly submerged.
The rain had left petrichor behind,
And the smell gave people a peace of mind.
