"This had better be a good plan," Bellamy sat upright as the rover bounced over sand dunes.
Octavia nodded, "Thanks for not letting me get killed."
"Hurt Clarke or touch the Flame and you'll be dead in a heartbeat."
I like this kid.
"We need an army for it to work," Madi said, "For anyone who doesn't know, I have the Flame in my head, making me the commander."
"They'll all follow you," Gaia said, "But only after Octavia does."
The rover stopped. Octavia got all the guards to lower their guns.
"What happened?" Miller asked.
"Wait," I help up a hand to stop him as I helped carry Gaia out of the rover, "We need a doctor here. Where's Jackson!"
Miller ran off to a far away tent and grabbed Jackson as Indra set Gaia down on a stretcher. She then followed her daughter to the medical tent.
"What do we do now?" Bellamy asked as the remnants of Wonkru gathered around us.
Madi announced herself and the Flame, explaining that she was the commander.
Then, Octavia kneeled before her.
That's something I never thought I'd see. Octavia kneeling before anyone, let alone a ten year old.
But I bowed next, followed by Bellamy and all the others from our group.
Soon, the whole camp of Wonkru bowed around Madi.
"What now?" I stood and asked her.
Her plan was simple. We cleared the way, destroying their defenses. Then, the army could just walk right in.
"It's time to go," Bellamy gathered Murphy, Emori, and Echo.
We all got in the rover and drove down through the gorge in daylight.
I grabbed my bow and hopped out of the rover when we arrived.
We stayed behind cover, but when the sonic weapons came out, we shot at them.
Echo's arrow destroyed one while mine destroyed another. Bellamy shot at the third one.
"Hogeda os!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. All clear.
We charged, sweeping through the gorge and the valley below.
The radio buzzed, "What now?"
"It's Clarke," Bellamy shuddered, "McCreary's dead, but he dropped a biological weapon that will hit us in ten minutes and kill us all."
"We just can't have a happy ending, can we?" I grabbed my sword, "I'll search through camp and grab whoever I can."
Looking around, I found Octavia helping Kane and Abby. After getting them to the dropship, I ran back in.
"Get back here!" Clarke and Bellamy pleaded, "Twenty seconds."
There was no one else unaccounted for, so I turned around and started running as fast as my legs could carry me.
The dropship doors had already started to close, but I jumped in just in time.
"What was McCreary thinking?" I asked while panting for breath.
"If he couldn't have Earth, no one could," Clarke sighed, "Everyone's accounted for."
I raised an eyebrow, "Minus the people you betrayed, who are dead in the gorge right now."
