Penelope
Age: 6Snow was falling, so much like stars filling the dark trees that one could easily imagine its reason for being was nothing more than a breathtaking sight. The snow fell beautifully on the ground, layering it in a beautiful white blanket. Penelope jumped ecstatically as she gripped her mothers hand while she tried to tug on her sled through the snow. Children her age were running up and down the infamous hill, sliding descending the hill at high rates of speed.
"Mommy, can I go slide down the hill," Penelope asks her mother with her pleading eyes. Her mother gives her a nod as Penelope drags her petite little body through the snow and up the hill.
She situates herself on her sled. Her small hands gripping on the handle bars as she takes a deep breath before looking below to see the long way down the hill. She takes one last breath before she slides forward sliding to the bottom of the hill.
Luke
Age: 7The school bell rang as Luke and his friends try to get to their class on time. They're foreheads were covered in a thin layer of sweat from playing outside in the school's playground.
"Luke, hurry up or Ms. Fisher will be mad at us." Michael, one of Luke's close friends, said as they ran through the hall towards the second grade section. Once they reached their class they're glad to see that they have made it on time. They gave Ms. Fisher a brief mischievous smile as they made their way towards their desks, which happens to be next to each other.
Ten minutes in to class Ms. Fisher passes out the addition and subtraction test that Luke's class did the day before. Luke glanced at Michael seeing him chewing on his finger nails, meaning he was nervous.
Ms. Fisher places Luke's test on his desk, giving a small smile before handing Michael's test.
Luke stares at his test before he flips it over slowly seeing he got a perfect score."What did you get?" Luke faced Michael as Michael looked like he was going to cry. He handed his paper towards Luke seeing that his grade wasn't all that well. Luke gave Michael some reassurance and offered to help Michael one day on his addition and subtraction which Michael gladly accepted.
Ms. Fisher started the lesson which Luke focused on. Throughout the lesson Luke started to shake. He felt harsh cold winds before images of sliding down a hill filled his mind. He was confused and wondered 'where am I'?
What Luke didn't know was that he is able to experience everything that Penelope experiences, and at the exact moment that Penelope crashes her sled into a tree that makes her go unconscious, Luke is thrown from his desk and knocked out cold in the middle of class suffering a concussion
just like Penelope.Even thought they are on opposites sides of the world. Luke and Penelope have a bond, a bond that can't be broken.
