Chapter 7: Start small

Every great accomplishment started from somewhere and it succeeded because the person never gave up. The person was patient with themselves and believed strongly in their vision.

We all have dreams we want to accomplish and goals we want to achieve. Sometimes finding people already ahead in the game and you're just starting can be intimidating and discouraging. You create room for self-doubt.

I want to encourage someone today that whatever it is you want to do, you can do it; all you have to do is to start from where you are. The greatest advice I've ever been given concerning writing, is to just write. That one may not be sure of what they are writing but just write and you'll figure it out along the way.

When someone starts something new, you are never sure of how it's going to go. It might succeed or fail. But you have to believe in yourself enough to take that chance on you and to just do it.

One thing should always be in your mind: you never know.

You never know what is going to happen. You never know where it might lead; who it might help. So unless you've had a glimpse of the future and you are sure of the outcome, you should take a shot on yourself.

How do you even begin? Start from where you are. Start with what you have. Start small. And along the journey, it might not be progressing with the pace you were hoping it would, but do not give up!

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should love yourself enough to be patient with yourself. Be patient with your dream and goals. One day you will get where you want to be.

Whatever it is you want to start working on, start NOW. Don't wait anymore. Don't delay anymore. Just do it; start small and work your way up. You will learn and grow along the way.

Question: What is it that you've always wanted to start and you've been afarid to do so because you are scared of the outcome?

This is one way of learning to love yourself: working on your dreams and goals.

Every published author started with writing a book that they weren't quite sure of and didn't actually think it would ever get published or recognition. But they started from somewhere. They started small. Once they were able to release the first book, it opened a gateway for other books to be released. They felt more confident to release another and another.

So, you may not be a writer, you may be talented in other areas because everybody is gifted in their own way, try to work your way from what you love doing and create something small, because you never know, right?

My aunt once told me that when we succeed, we create an open-way for others to succeed as well. That success is not for us alone; it's in order to help somebody else in succeeding too. So when we get over our fear, and just do what we want to do, and end up succeeding in it, we get to have an opportunity in helping others rise as well. Amazing, right? We all need each other. You carry something that other people need and they carry something that you need. Everyone is important and gifted in their own beautiful way.

So make the decision to just work on what you've always wanted to do because you never know, right?

Remember to just start from where you are. The world needs to hear from you.
