It's April 4th. Niall leaves for tour today, I'm a month pregnant and have a two year old, a teething one year old, and work. We were at the terminal and Niall's plane is about to take off
"Stay daddy." Elaine cried
"Aw baby, I have to go, but I'll be back soon, I promise. Can you do something for me?" Niall said
"What?"
"Be a good girl for mummy. I need you to take care of Caleb and mummy and the baby in mummy's tummy for me, ok? Can you do that for daddy?" Niall said as Elaine nodded her head. "Good, thank you Princess." He gave Elaine a kiss and stood up and walked to me
"Hey." I said
"Hey Princess. Are you sure you can handle all this? I can - "
"Niall, I'll be fine. Tell you what, I'll call your mum and have her come down if I need help, ok?"
"Promise?"
"I promise."
"Imma miss you baby."
"Imma miss you too Niall." He gave me a kiss. And then Caleb talked
"Daddy." Caleb said. Our eyes widened
"Did he just - " I said
"Daddy." He repeated. Niall walked over to him. Caleb was standing up against a chair.
"Hi bubba." Niall said and held his arms out for him, trying to get him to walk. Niall didn't want to miss any big moments in Caleb's life. Caleb let go of the chair and took a couple steps before falling. Niall caught him though.
"Oh my god." I said
"Look at you go!" Niall said
"He just walked and talked for the first time on the same day. And you're leaving. My emotions can't handle this." I said, which made Niall laugh
"I'll be home soon Princess." He said, kissing my temple. "I'll be home soon."
"I know. We're all gonna miss you. So much."
"I'll miss you too. I love you. I have to go now." He said, handing Caleb to me and giving me one last hug and kiss.
"I love you too."
"Bye baby. By bubba. Bye my Princess, you can do this, I'll be back soon." Niall said his goodbyes to us.
"Daddy." Caleb said
"Bye daddy." Elaine cried
"Bye Niall." We were all crying at this point. "ELAINE!" I yelled as Elaine ran after Niall, getting his attention just in time to pick her up. I caught up to them and took Elaine from Niall
"Bye." Niall said, looking at me with tears in his eyes
"Bye." I said as the tears rolled down my face. We watched until we could no longer see him. "Elaine, baby, lets go home."
"Ok mummy."
I decided to pick up an ice cream cone for Elaine before heading home. A couple hours later, Niall called
"Hey baby." Niall said
"Hey, how was your flight?"
"It was good. How are you doing?"
"I'm doing good. Elaine misses you like crazy, she's still crying."
"Aww, we'll can I talk to her?"
"Of course. Elaine! Baby! Come talk to daddy!" I yelled from the other room
"Ouch." Niall said
"Oh shit, sorry."
"It's ok baby."
"Daddy?" Elaine said
"C'mere." I said to Elaine as she crawled on top of my lap
"Hi baby, how's it going?" Niall said, switching over to FaceTime
"I miss you daddy."
"Aw, I miss you too honey, but I need you to be a brave girl for daddy, ok?" Niall said
"Ok daddy."
"Good girl. Are ya takin' care of mummy for me?"
"Yes daddy."
"Good girl."
"Daddy?"
"Yea baby?"
"I go make mummy dinner."
"Ok baby, go make mummy dinner."
"Bye daddy."
"Bye baby."
"I'll come help in a bit, ok?" I said
"No, mummy sit."
"Wow, she's even more demanding that you are." I said
"Hey! It's not our fault you don't know how to relax!" Niall said
"Hey! That's not fair! You know I can't stand just sitting around all day, it drives me nuts!"
"I know Princess, I know."
"Mummy help!" Elaine yelled. I ran into the kitchen and saw Elaine hanging from off the counter
"What the hell?" I ran and helped her back into the floor. "Are you ok?"
"I got an ouchie." She showed me the cut on her hand
"Baby, how did that happen?" She pointed to the knife. She was trying to cut an apple. "Oh baby, we don't play with knives. Hey, Niall, can I call you back?"
"Of course. Love you."
"Love you too."
"Bye."
"Bye." I carried Elaine to the bathroom and fixed up her hand. We got take out for dinner and I called Niall back after I got the kids to sleep and fell asleep on the phone with Niall. What an exhausting day.
