Chapter 3

"John Wick, huh." Lilith chuckled.

"What?" Jardani has a smile on his face, hoping his name didn't sound too ridiculous.

"Nothing." Lilith shook her head, "I think it's smart.It's easy and short. Maybe I should do it too. I feel like my name sounds too biblical."

"I think Lilith is perfect." he said.

"Of course you'd say that." she said

The waitress came by and dropped off Jardani's food, then left.

"I think it's badass." he said while cutting into his steak and took a bite off of it.

"I feel like my last name is a handful to say. I should go for something American, like yours. I'm thinking Lily. Something short for my first name." she said.

"How about Lily....Lily." he thought about it for a moment with food in his mouth, "Smith?"

"Lily Smith?" she said not really feeling it, "Sounds like another Jane Doe, too generic." she dismissed it.

"Oooo, I got one...Lily Hendrix." he said.

"It sounds cool, but all I can think about is Jimi Hendrix." she said.

"I know, love his songs." he said.

"Come on, Jardani, this is my name we are talking about. What if I share the name Wick. Lily Wick?" she said.

"Do you really?" he raised a brow.

"Nah. Then people might think we are related, or they'll think of you first." she said.

"Well, technically we are related by paper, but I don't think you'd want to be living under my shadow." he said.

"Your shadow? So what, not only everyone knows you as John Wick, but now you got a reputation?" she said.

"You should of caught on by now, people have been staring at us since I got here." he said.

"I know, I know. I have. I try to ignore it, but I can't believe it's been what, 13 years since you went out on your own. You really outdid yourself." she said.

"People started calling me the Boogeyman, it's ridiculous, really." he said.

Lilith almost choked on her meal, then proceeded to drown her food in ice tea. She then cleared her throat, "Boogeyman?"

"Haha, laugh all you want. I wouldn't be surprised if they start giving you a nickname in the next ten years."

"I hope it's better than being called the Baba Yaga." she said. Then a last name popped into her head, "Ok, ok. How about Lily Knight? Like Knight as in those medieval armored men. Not the night as in night and day." she ranted

"I understood you the first time." he said.

Lilith playfully slapped his arm, "But what do you think?"

"I think it sounds pretty good." he said.

"Yes, Lily Knight....Lily Knight. Lily....Knight" she said in different tones of voice.

"Keep saying it and it's not gonna sound so cool." he said.

Lilith rolled her eyes, "So how long are you staying?"

"Depends. I just got back from doing business with the High Table. What about you?" he said.

"Well, I'm supposed to do this job tomorrow and then meet up with Petrov along with his son right after. I won't be here long, cause once I finish this, I am moving to Los Angeles. That's where Petrov runs his." she said.
